That was meant for everyone saying its "a lot of empty seats"

Even in some shitty years we've been over capacity. A 10,000 seat gain over our highest attendance is really not that mind blowing.

Y'all should honestly just tear it down and build a new one.

That was one of two options that was seriously considered, OBReb6. Completely razing Kyle Field, as opposed to renovating it, would have meant that Texas A&M would play its home games away from College Station (in Houston's Reliant Stadium) for at least one season. That would've devastated a large chunk of Bryan/College Station's business owners--many of whom do their entire year's business during football season.

It may as well be a tear-down anyway. They're overhauling the whole darn venue, from top to bottom.

No, it's pretty clear if you read the whole thing

"Fairly subtle," "pretty clear," we've reduced the thread to semantics.

That was my impression as well.

20,000 new seats are a lot. Very few programs can actually fill them and I don't think A&M is one of them

Depends on how many students come since they have 50,000. It's easier to sell 50K other tickets rather than 80K other tickets for example with Tenn, since our student population is only 25K

And without being entirely dependent on the tenuous efforts of Fran and Sherm, why, exactly?

(I feel like I've been here before).

Well, that's where you'd be wrong.

Somebody mentioned "future plans" I mentioned Tennessee planned for the future and overbuilt, now they're averaging 10,000 less than capacity

Yeah I'm aware.

But again, my question was a response to your post on page 1.

When we "overbuilt" we were also over capacity every game since we were good. During the 1990's and early 2000's we averaged over 100K.

You heard it here first folks. A&M is big brother in the SEC now without a single win in the conference.

I gotta say, I saw this coming when I heard A&M was coming to the SEC.

This, and a whole lot of gay shite. Just watch...

You do realize we have been averaging quite a bit more than our stated capacity right? I believe our avg attendance last year was about 87,000. And I don't think there's any way we expand to 103,000. I think it will be more in the 95-97,000 range.

Tongue and cheek comments from anonymous Internet posters fulfilled your premonition?

That's sound stuff you projected there.

But unlike your case our attendance has actually increased over the last 5-6 years while our team has been bad. And with the expected demand for season tickets with the massive increase of living alumni, they are building accordingly.
