Jarret Lee threw lots of pick sixes as a redshirt freshman. However, he had a great arm, and improved over his career. The progress he showed in 2011 proves he shouldn't be on a list of bad QBs.
He never showed anything close to something that could be considered a "great arm" and he had a terrible game against Alabama in 2011. He was JJ's back up for most of his tenure at LSU and I am not making an argument that JJ was good. Lee and Jefferson both should be on that list.

Don't know.

Sorry. I'm an LSU fan and I'll never get over how awful Jarrett Lee played in 2008. (Matter of fact, his awful play that year has loomed over every LSU QB since then. Miles is scared of guys making mistakes, that's why our offense has been so conservative.) Lee was thrown in a situation way over his head and good for him toughening it out and staying at LSU. But I still spent the next three years holding my breath every time he dropped back in the pocket. And Miles was right to keep him on a short leash in 2011.

Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson sometimes showed flashes of goodness (can't say greatness). Seems like I recall every time he did, an announcer would call him George Jefferson.

From an article I pulled:
quote:LINK
One of the themes of Saturday's post was that, in terms of yards per attempt, even adjusted for normal and ordinary interceptions, Jarrett Lee's rating (while bad) was not worse than the rest of the conference, and in fact was pretty much middle of the road.
This quote pretty much sums up how I felt about Lee:
quote:
Jarrett Lee's 2008 season has been labeled an abject failure, and his positive accomplishments have been forgotten. If you ask people about the 2008 game against Auburn, most people will seem to remember the terrible interception Lee threw, but will forget the game-winning drive he engineered in the final minutes, or will forget the beautiful arcing touchdown pass he delivered to Chris Mitchell. They may forget that we WON, and that Jarrett Lee's good plays won it for us. They will remember the interceptions against Georgia, but not the yards he piled up.
I tried to find a video of Lee hitting Chris Mitchell for a TD while getting laid out. The kid had a cannon for an arm. He just had confidence issues early in his career. He actually threw for a lot of yards in 2008.
I guess people didn't pay attention when in 2010 Lee stepped in for a noodle arm Jefferson and won several games for us with clutch passes. This includes his fade to Terrence Toliver against Florida.
quote:Perhaps, but I don't think we could have had such an epic run without Lee.
And Miles was right to keep him on a short leash in 2011.

Anthony Jennings was better then Jeremy Johnson at this point. Jeremy Johnson has more potential though.

Damn, son.
I don't think he was the GOAT. People were pretty hard on him, yet he never seemed to have a bad attitude about everything. I respect the guy for that.
