I love to drag the Gators as much as the next person, but from what's circulating around the internet, it appears Netflix chose to ignore massive criminal history surrounding Urban's program.

They no doubt ignore a ton of history, and the show suffers because of it. It is still a better than average documentary.

With the exception of Tebow, the former player narrations are damn good. I love what the guy has accomplished and what he represents, but Tebow always comes off as a motivational speaker. As mentioned, they never broach a lot of the shite that went down, but Urban does a pretty good in opening up about his personal demons.

I mean, that's what he does now.

I hope it goes more into detail than the Johnny Football documentary did. I enjoyed watching it but they were brief on some of the biggest things in Johnny's career

Manziel did not have that long of a career. He redshirted and played for two years, then went pro. His pro career derailed quickly. I don't think it could've gone any deeper than it did.

No they didn't ignore it, they just chose not to do negative hit piece, and kudos to Netflix for that. These guys had character, they worked their asses off, and they deserve to be recognized fairly for all they were able to achieve. Good stuff.

UF had character? My Gawd! There were TWO murderers on the same damn Gator team. Not to mention all the arrests for serious offenses. And who knows how many things Urban and UF ignored or covered up. I don’t plan on watching anything that doesn’t tell the whole story. Warts and all

You don't have to watch it if it's bothering you THAT much.

They didn't outright ignore it but definitely glossed over some of the more egregious shite. Aaron Hernandez is barely mentioned.

I understand why; 0% chance Meyer and Tebow agree to do this if its anything other than a fluffy, nostalgia piece.

I honestly thought that was the whole point of the documentary. What a waste

It is a good watch but they certainly did ignore the off-field stuff. Cam Newton was on the 2008 team before getting kicked off for stealing a laptop. If he stays for his final three years of eligibly, UF certainly competes and is the likely favorite for a nation title. Not even broaching this was mindboggling.

No one is talking shite about how good they were as a football team. The point was to have a documentary on the arrests and murderers and all that stuff. Negative or not it’s reality and what we all wanted to see

Which is ridiculous. They said his story was already told on other documentaries.

Who cares. A lot of people maybe have not seen them and should have been in this documentary. Why put out a half arse documentary. Imagine if the jordan documentary was cut in half.

Of course you did, that's the narrative from our rivals. They did a good job of showcasing the leadership and character from the alpha dogs in that locker room. You wanted read meat, so you could pile on the narrative that the whole team was thugs, they said "phuck you, that's not who we are!". Again, well done series.

If by narrative, you mean in the public records of the Gainesville police department, you are correct. I don't know what your rivals have to do with that, but don't pretend it isn't something factual.

It was indeed a good series that could've been great if they had not buried the lead.

Using the best teams each year always have the most thugs. See current Bama and UGA teams for reference.

Precisely why this documentary misses the mark. Tebow was the only dude of character on that team. Urban Meyer is a walking POS. Everyone knows that team was full of dudes, but at the same time they were not of the highest moral standard. Winning helps ignoring how awful some people are.

I won’t. I don’t like fluff pieces that don’t tell the whole story. And in Floridas case it’s a really ugly story
