Uh... actually it was. I can't think of a single person other than you who has thought Updyke was anything other than a unique anomaly ever since it happened...
...including Auburn fans.
Yeah. The Harvey Updyke Narrative of Bama fans as unhinged zealots was created entirely by you for the purpose of this very thread.

When Mettenburger did what he did, he had no association w/ LSU. Now, if you want to say that b/c of what he did, LSU should not have signed him, that's fair game for comment, I'll concede. Now, conversely, the guy sticking his fingers in an unconscious guy's ears, and nose, and ultimately progressing this demented tableaux into putting his balls in the unconscious guy's ear, was wearing an Ala. shirt, surrounded by fellow Ala. fans, chanting, "Roll Tide." Dem's the facts, ma'am. I submit the culture of Ala. fandom promotes such actions. Do I think you personally condone what the pervert did? No, I don't. But your failure to acknowledge that the culture of Ala. football empowers non-college graduates with no connection to the university to commit Deliverance-style atrocities helps to sustain the sick culture.

So signing with LSU is sort of like going to confession and doing penance if you're a catholic? It absolves you of all sins?
Damn, why couldn't I have gotten a scholly to go there?

Would you put forth that the USMC promotes the actions undertaken by the individual Marines photographed urinating on dead fighters?

A YouTube video surfaced late last week showing a University of Alabama football fan sexually assaulting an incapacitated LSU fan at the Krystal restaurant on Bourbon Street after the national championship game.
The LSU fan remains asleep on a table as a sea of crimson-clad Alabama fans surround him mockingly, placing various items on and around his head while asking whether he is dead and saying he will soon "be all over YouTube."
Approximately three minutes into the video, an Alabama fan removes his genitals from his pants and places them in the LSU fan's face before thrusting his hips. The Alabama fan then proceeds to mock-sodomize the LSU fan.
Twitter user KonwayTweety posted on Sunday that he is the Alabama fan in the video, saying it's "awesome" that the popular sports blog Deadspin reported on the incident. In response to a tweet saying the assault would send him to jail, the Alabama fan tweeted, "My dad is rich...I wont be going to jail...#RollDamnTide boy."
The video garnered more than 10,000 views before being removed by the user on Sunday afternoon. Some YouTube commenters called for the Alabama fan's arrest, citing sexual harassment and remarking that his actions are "embarrassing" and "a disgrace."
Communications officials from the New Orleans Police Department and the University of Alabama's police department were not available for comment.
"This took the rivalry to a whole new level," said Trey Woodward, LSU international trade and finance sophomore. "It's complete defamation."

Methinks Mr. Woodward doesn't know what defamation means...

Wow.
You can easily sub out LSU for Alabama in that very huge assumption.
BTW, who uses Ala. anymore? Are you 73 years old?

I linked a thread from the tiger rant from today, with people saying he should grope on.
See the link. This has nothing to do with before he got there. It has to do with what your fans are saying right now.
The question then becomes why you must associate yourself with moral superiority, and devalue an entire group of people that you aren't associated with. Usually when people do that, it's a defense mechanism rooted in covering a deep seeded shame.
Since we know that you attract the segment of people in Alabama obsessed with homoerotic tendencies, it's not hard to leap to conclusions.
Thankfully, I, and most people I know, don't lump degenerates like you with the entire group of amazing people from Louisiana.

I'm also kind of curious to know how, exactly, the "culture of Ala. football" empowers non-college graduates with no connection to the university to commit Deliverance-style atrocities, aren't you?
That would be sort of like me claiming that using garbage bags empowers garbagemen who steal from the yards of the residences they service.
IT MAKES NO frickING SENSE.

another strawman - I'd submit that soldiers laboring under the stress of constant combat can break under the stress and commit atrocities. They should be punished criminally for their actions, but one can understand the difference b/w stress-induced crimes, and crimes committed by someone living vicariously through the efforts of others, and feeling emboldened to act out perverted, bizarre, demented homosexual actions on an unconscious person. While others chant "Roll Tide" in the background. It's a culture thing. Kind of like getting your picture on Bourbon St. with Harvey Updyke, the hero who poisoned historic trees on Auburn's campus. You personally may think the actions of Updyke, and the sick frick, let's call him Updick, are horrid, and you want nothing to do w/ them, but until you admit the culture is the cause of it, it will continue.
