The 9-6 game turned out to be 100% meaningless. On a side note, Okie St should have been in the bcs nc game.

Gary Daniels' silence at the end is hilarious.

Does not remotely compare to Texas-Southern California in the Rose Bowl after the 2005 season.

I was there with my son. Very nerve racking game and a frustrating game for both fan bases. LSU deserved that win. I was also at the 21 zip game. Not as good as the first game but we won

Now, the best game I’ve ever watched was being at a cold, grey sky Legion field , sitting on the 50 yd line and watching Antonio Langham do his magic act. It was, well. Just breath taking.

Best play I ever witnessed was George Teagues run down of Lamar Thomas. I laughed uncontrollably saying to my brother, “did that just happen “

quote:

The defenses were great, but just being honest, one team had a new QB that hadn't really learned how to play yet and the other really didn't have a QB.

That Alabama defense that year was great, but didn't really face a team with a really good QB all year. Offenses by and large were bad in the conference that year.

Both offenses averaged 34-38 points a game. The only time these two offenses struggled all year was against these two defenses.

Basically, both these offenses are almost identical to a Kirby Smart team.

The rematch led to the playoffs, and Les Miles was so dumb that he told the on field reporter after the game "it would be an honor" to play Alabama again that season. Be careful what you wish for. The correct response would have been "we beat them at their place, we're ready for another challenger."

Prior to the BCS NCG, that LSU team was being discussed as the best team of all time. They had the resume to back it up. Bama had no resume that year, and they sat home and watched the SECCG on TV while ESPN allowed Saban to campaign for them on their broadcast. It was all so gross.

The most consequential????

Why???

It impacted neither teams season.

Unlike the Kick 6 where the 2 time defending champion went home. The winner played for a natty and lost but it had a huge impact on BOTH seasons.

A rematch makes the prior game unimportant.

It began to normalization of discounting the regular season to the point that it is now almost irrelevant.

Alabama started all this as “Mulligan U”

Remember that when you are watching a 9-3 team in a 24 team playoff.

It’s all Alabama’s fault.
