I'm not saying the NCAA has been doing everything right, but there's a big difference between having to figure out scheduling and not being able to go to the college you want.
playing college football is a privilege...not a right. most college athletes don't get to go to the college they want. they go where they are offered a scholarship.

I make it a point to not ridicule fellow barners, but you're pushing it diddy.

I'm not being super serious...just having a debate about an unfair system.

They get to choose where they want to attend from the schools that do offer them. It's much better than telling an elite recruit he has to go to some irrelevant school he has never heard of because some kids in Wyoming don't think the system is fair.

if he wants a free education then take the offer, or pay like most people have to do and go where he wants.

Why don't we have schools draft the smartest kids, too? Why should the Ivy League schools get the top students?

is there some serious debate team competition going on?

Why would that matter? Having smarter students is obviously beneficial to schools. Seems like the only 'fair' thing to do is force the students to go to whichever school takes them in the draft.

Sounds like someone pissed about their student loans.

Don't take it out on the jocks bro.

I think it deserves it's own thread.

I've never understood the food issue with the NCAA. These are athletes, usually huge athletes that need more than 3 cafeteria meals. Feed them already.

I think there should be a player draft as well. That's what sucks about college football is that traditional teams automatically get the best players every year. If the players don't like the school that chooses them then let them pay their own way.
I have read some dumb opinions on the internet, but this just might be the dumbest. Thanks for that.

I like the idea of making the NCAA rulebook more efficient by eliminating some of the unnecessary rules that often result in isolated secondary violations.
Allowing transfers to gain immediate eligibility is potentially a dangerous move. I do not see any way that passes.

I'm glad these legislative procedures take time. I am hoping Renardo Sidney is gone by the time this rule (potentially) goes into effect.

Athletic dorms need to happen again and anyone that thinks otherwise is fricking retarded to boot. Someone said something about they would be against it because it would be nicer than the other dorms is just balls out being a pussy. I could give a shite less if its nicer than the other dorms. They are bringing the university shite tons upon shite tons of money through the product they are putting on the field. I got no problem with their living conditions being a little better. It's not like they can take it with them when they leave so they arent getting anything tangible that other students arent getting.
And as far as instant playing time for transfers, regardless of coaching change stipulations, this cannot happen for 1 reason and 1 reason only. Let's say Coach Smith leaves the school he is coaching for. What is to stop half the team from leaving for other schools because they committed to the coach and not the school and therefore leave the program in a state where they can no longer compete?
That can't happen
Also, 4 year scholly's sound good when you first say it, but how are you gonna feel when the first kid that comes to your school decides he doesnt have a future in the NFL and THEN decides that his free ride is paid for so he doesnt have to do anything other than show up and half arse it on the field? That shite can't happen either imo. There has to be an incentive to perform to the best of their ability. That may not be superstar level, but it at least has to be their best.
