Wondering how this compares to other conferences? (as far as teams reaching a Final Four)

e.g.(just off the top of my head, that I know of)

Big 12: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, KSU? Mizzou? NO

Big 10: Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa? Minnesota? Purde?

ACC: North Carolina, Virginia, NC State, Wake Forest, Duke, Ga.Tech, Clemson? FSU? Maryland? NO

Big East: Syracuse, UConn, Villanova, West Va.? Pitt?

Frank Martin is gonna make this a tough program .... I really like what he's doing.

I got laughed at when I posted a year or two ago that LSU and South Carolina would be good at basketball under Jones and Martin.

Clemson? FSU? Maryland?

Don't think the first two have made it, but Maryland won the National title in early 2000's.
Eta: FSU has made it. I-59 had the information

Florida State went to the National Title game in 1972,losing to UCLA 81-76. Hugh Durham was their coach and went on to Georgia in 1978.

also a crime that a team wins four conference titles in five years and isn't allowed to go to three tournaments because of a racist governor and state house. The one team that goes sneaks out of state to play the tourney game in East Lansing, MI. This was in 1963.

Did MS not allow their public schools to play in tournaments, where they could play against black players, as well.
Remember hearing around that time a great LSU baseball team ran into the same thing. USC ended up winning it all. Then after Omaha, teams of basically the same players of USC and LSU played, and the LSU players won.

It's hard to believe that Maryland didn't make the final four back in the early to mid 80s when Len Bias was there. I looked it up. They didn't even make the elite 8 any of those season.

As LSU fans, we can say that a few times as well.

True. LSU has one of best all-time teams out there (Pete, Pettit, Shaq, Chris Jackson, Macklin), but those players were spaced too far apart to put together any great seasons. Hopefully, the past class and the current one will change that trend.

Lets hope. I really like the direction this team is headed. Would love to see us win the Final Four. Seen titles in football and baseball, time for basketball.
