He has been pretty mouthy in general. I suspect they commented because Sheridan, instead of going away, went on ESPN and claimed to have sources inside the NCAA giving him information that the NCAA says isn't true.

Emmeret and the NCAA (except for one individual if DS does have a source) has no idea if that's true or not.

would you agree

doesnt matter if i agree or not. it is pretty much fact based upon the ncaa press release

Only that they didn't officially give him information.

And they also said he continues to make allegations without any proof.

You can interpret the words however you like, but the NCAA pretty much said his claims are FOS. and your assumption is that only one person knows about this?

The point was so crystal clear that they were debunking Sheridan that I'm really not going to waste time arguing this, as much as you'd like that.

how can they debunk info when they don't know what info he has?

Well, we have an individual not involved with the case that has made a fool of himself on multiple occasions and has been publicly berated by the very institution he claims to have inside sources from, with them calling him out.

Yeah. Cool. I'm sure there's something here that will incriminate Auburn. Definitely.

That he would confirm to them.

Ok. Tell me this. Where in this statement does it say his information is wrong?

quote:

Danny Sheridan continues to make vague, unsubstantiated claims without backing them up with proof. Contrary to his claims of having an inside source with details on the Auburn investigation, the NCAA has not provided information to Sheridan or anyone else. As a matter of due diligence, the NCAA spoke with Sheridan this week to determine if he had any facts pertaining to the investigation. Sheridan, however, did not provide any information to the enforcement staff and certainly did not provide a name. Instead, he unsuccessfully attempted to gather information for his own use.

It says in unsubstantiated, but I don't see anywhere they said it was wrong. Do you?

If nobody is talking to Emmert, he wouldn't know.

In one of the highest publicized cases of the last year, you're saying that the President of the NCAA wouldn't be updated on this case as information becomes available, or advised on anything related to Danny Sheridan's "claims" after he (Emmert) publicly announced he wanted to speak directly with him?

Just curious, has Auburn made a statement that there isn't an investigation, or if there was, it isn't open? If there wasn't one, or if it was closed, surely there must be a press conference? Link?

there must not be a single AU fan in this thread that has ever worked for a corporation with multiple divisions. If you had and you know how the NCAA is set up, you would understand why that statement is laughable. I have no idea what Sheridan knows or doesn't, and I really don't care.

1. Someone affiliated with gambling is saying that he has an insider in the NCAA.

2. The NCAA wants nothing to do with someone in the gambling industry. NCAA meets with said person to find out if there is any truth to it.

3. After their meeting, the NCAA feels the person has no real information in regards to an inside source at the NCAA. Meanwhile the person keeps talking about his NCAA sources.

4. NCAA decides it's time to make sure it is known that this person is an idiot who is making things up and puts out a statement to make sure it is understood that they have no ties with someone in the gambling industry and that no one within the NCAA is working with him.

I would expect you have this under good authority.
Or your just making claims and trying to build credit for yourself. See how I did that?

Actually no claims that this is what happened, but logic would lead you to believe this is the simplest and reasonable reasons for the NCAA to make a statement.

NCAA and betting do not mix. Especially if it is said that an insider at the NCAA is giving information out to an odds maker. I realize conspiracy theories are a lot more entertaining, but logic is your friend.

Hell I listen to Coast to Coast A.M. every now and then as well.

Bro they said his claims lacked proof. They said he had no connections in the NCAA. They said when they contacted him to see if he had pertinent information all he did was ask them questions.

Someone is leaking information. Actions that could cost the person their career. The NCAA has no idea if he has connections within their organization or not.
