12-16 are for the mid-majors. At-large bids typically go 1-11 and sometimes even a 12-seed or two.

State doesn’t have much breathing room. With likely upset in conference tourneys, they are likely right on the cut off or just outside at the moment.
I would have to agree, I think we have to win out reg season and win at least one if not two games in the SEC tourney. That would put us at 22/23-10. Tough to keep a 22-23 win team out from a respectable conference.

This Saturday's Bama Arkansas game should be a good one!

Have no confidence that AU is going to make it. Have played our way out with late game collapses most of February.

Arkansas with Smith is a really bad draw for whoever gets them in the tournament.
They will be dramatically underseeded relative to their current roster IMO.

9-9 conference record with some of the wins State would have should absolutely get them in. And 8-10 might be enough if they add a win against A&M on Saturday. 8-10 with a loss to A&M will probably require several wins in the SEC Tourney. Anything less would require winning the tourney outright.
Having a neutral site win against Marquette, who is probably going to win the Big East, is doing State a lot of favors. That TCU win is helpful too. Their only signature win in conference play is at Arkansas, I just feel like they need one more really strong league win to get in. Whether that be A&M on Saturday or somebody in the SEC Tournament.

obviously Arkansas will carry the torch for the league and be the last team standing just like they have every year since pre-pandemic.

For once I hope our bracket is a hell bracket. Our team just hasn't played well against regular teams. They've played their best games against tougher competition.
