Didn't read the whole thread, but is there a contingency for late game scenarios? As in, when your team needs to hurry the frick up, can they?

If not, frick this rule. And that's from an Alabama fan.

I feel the way I do because I have injuries from playing football. Third grade thru college.

I don't care what my favorite team is doing, I still feel this way. Saban has talked about speeding things up. I don't like it either.

Most of you are just going off what your team is doing. I get it. Auburn had a great year. The Ducks have had some great years..

Yes, the rule is suspended the last two minutes of each half. So, when a HUNH is needed by everyone, it is okay.

Somehow you see this as a more legit ruling

holy hell logic!
I mean what about the play action pass? The whole basis of that play is to lineup in a run formation, then use a gimmick handoff to trick the defense and then throw it over the top

lol no.

k. Were those injuries due to the HUNH? Mine weren't.

That is fine if you don't like it as a system. That is an argument worth entertaining. Changing the rules because you don't like it/have trouble stopping it is just silly. The safety argument doesn't have much of a leg to stand on. Sorry.

meh, still frick this rule. The game changes, let it change. Each team should be able to develop their own style of play to succeed. Other teams will catch up and be able to defend it.

How many on here do you think played football in school? And college? I would say very few.

If I had to guess you never played. Just a big fan of the sport. That's great. But there is more to this than just don't like the HUNH.

Well, I had just stated that I did, but whatever.

It is about player safety no matter how many times you say it's not.

More plays = more injuries, only a fool denies this.

Tired players are far more prone to being injured.

Here is the better question though , why are you so bush league that you are afraid of allowing the other team to sub players on to the field ?

We could just make a rule that if a defense is trying to bring 5 players on and the offense snaps the ball the the defense can play with 16 players on that play.

To say that more players and tired players don't cause more injuries is just idiotic.

about on par with what is being proposed right now.

lol no.

more plays = more potential injuries. So why not just shorten quarters? If it was truly about safety, why not just outlaw HUNH all together?

FIFY. I think we should make a rule linebackers should have to be under 225lbs. Makes no sense having guys that big who can run that fast hitting Qbs and running backs. This sound ok too Bama?

As a fan of a team that continuously has issues with LB's not being bigger than that already, I support this rule

I hope they don't change a damn thing. I want Saban to kick Gus's arse running whatever the hell offense he wants to run. If he can't then so be it. Get back to work and try again.

Oh, OK...

In that case, why are there an unlimited amount of overtimes in college football? Why are we adding the playoff format that adds games (and plays) onto team's schedules?

Will you even reply intelligently?

We don't have to shorten quarters, we can shorten plays. We have already started running the clock on plays run out of bounds.

No matter how short the game is, even if it was cut to 30 minutes, if tired players are on the field then you still have a greater chance of getting injured and/or getting a heat stroke.

Why do you want to deny a rules change that is for player safety just because it is advantageous to your team ?
