the defense has a fair chance to sub.

They do, they have time outs and tv time outs. Also, there are times the offense substitutes. There should be no advantage through rules given to the D so they can slow offenses down to make substitutions.

It is just ridiculous that the rules being discussed is even taking place.

10 seconds after the 40 sec clock starts isn't much. By the time the ref has spotted the ball 5-10 seconds are already gone.

Plus, it takes about 5 seconds for the players to look over to the sidelines to get the playcall from the cards in the HUNH.

The whole purpose of the HUNH is to hike the ball before the defense has had a chance to get ready for the play, plain and simple. It is a pussy arse move, because they know that they are at a disadvantage if the defense is on a level playing field. Be a freaking arse man and let the defense have an equal opportunity to call their plays just like the offense. This ain't freaking Arena league football.

Do you think this should have always been the case during 2 minute drills as well. Why the frick should the offense care about letting the defense get set. Saban gets smoked by 2 HUNH offenses to end the season and this happens. Typical whiny arse Saban.

I wish all people could think logically. ^ It ain't all about you bro. The other team is trying to win too. And if they think catching the defense off guard will be an advantage why shouldn't they do it? Youre either blinded as a bama fan or just silly. The offense IS CALLING THEIR PLAY, their play is to play faster to catch the defense off guard. Such a ridiculous concept........

Exactly, this is no different than the advantage all teams try to create with 2 minutes left.

I think that the defense should have equal opportunity to call their plays just like the offense. HUNH's sole purpose is to not allow that for the defense, plain and simple. All is says when a team runs it is that the offense isn't good enough to allow the defense to be on the same footing as the offense. It is a pussy arse move, plain and simple.

No it isn't. You run a 2 minute drill because you are up against the clock with time running out, not because you are too much off a pussy to allow the defense to get set.

Okay, if you want the defense to have equal opportunity as the offense, then how about y'all give everybody else some of your 5 star players so we all have equal players. Same concept you are proposing. Bama and Saban just trying to keep their thumb down on anybody trying to catch up. I wonder if Saban used his hands a lot and rambled as usual when wwhining to the rules committee.

This proves my point. HUNH teams know that they don't stand a chance if both sides of the field are on equal footing. It is freaking upward football.

Hell, I wish we could play the type of way Bama plays, but we can't recruit the way they do to run that style. I hate the HUNH but in no way think rules should be put in place to limit teams trying to create a mismatch. Should there also be rules in place to limit stockpiling 5 stars.

Arkansas is going to have trouble recruiting well enough to play the Bama style.

Upward football is changing the rules because your fat slob players can't keep up.

I've had too many drinks. I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that this bama guy is admitting to the skill advantage on the field and still trying to call the HUNH a "pussy" move and thinking he is proving a point. Maybe he has more to drink than me.

No, upward football is trying to hand tie the opposition because you feel that you can't compete otherwise.

So Bamatab, you think all teams should have to play the same way because if not, it creates an unfair advantage for beloved Bama.

You guys really are delusional.

Hand tie the opposition? Like by changing the rules? Jesus Christ do you realize the hypocrisy?
