the HUNH is a gimmick. it's like the "quick pitch" in baseball. it's bush league and it's chicken shite. i hope they do eliminate it. line up and play football beatch. quit being a pussy.
+1
Hopefully they get rid of targeting the knees during open-field-blocking in CFB too. Just because a program can't match-up physically doesn't mean it's open season on knees. If these CFB players were making millions maybe, but they're not.

It will pass because it's a safety issue and an unsportsmanshop problem also.
Sissies run to the line to deny subs ONLY REASON.
And if you deny this you are lying to yourself.
GOODBYE GUS.

I love it. Gumps no longer think saban can beat Gus and want the rules changed to give the midget a chance.
Sorry gumps.
Sorry gumps.

quote:Maybe he should spend all of that extra time in preparing for the HUNH offense, not recruiting...
Like putting recruiting limitations on all head coaches because one head coach is willing to spend more time out on the trail than all the others?
I kid, but seriously...personally, I found that rule stupid as well.

I was advocating this rule change 2 years ago, it has zero to do with high school Gus, and everything to do with fairness.

“All you’re trying to do is get lined up [on defense],” Saban told ESPN.com in September. “You can’t play specialty third-down stuff. You can’t hardly scheme anything. The most important thing is to get the call so the guys can get lined up, and it’s got to be a simple call. The offense kind of knows what you’re doing."

I've made it pretty clear where I stand. But seriously, how is it a safety issue? Players are out of breath/winded in a sporting event? Where is the safety concern? I'm genuinely curious - and again, the players on offense are also experiencing the same hardships. Some of you have said that defense is more intense physically, having to adapt and what not... ok... thats offense vs defense.

So I assume you have some cold hard facts to support this? How many more injuries have occurred because of the HUNH?

What Saban wants, Saban gets.

quote:That is just their, how I say..."selling point". There has been nothing to back the claims of safety issues, no statistics... It's nothing more than a myth without objective data to back up the talk. And until someone is able to provide evidence of so, it will be mocked and called a joke by everyone not somehow associated with Alabama and Arkansas.
But seriously, how is it a safety issue?

Exactly what Leach was saying.

I guess that Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Chip Kelly are going to have to change their offenses in the NFL, too.

Yeah, like someone else mentioned way earlier in this thread, the alabama fans wouldn't be nearly 'up in arms' about this if Saban himself wasn't publicly complaining about the HUNH. And once again, I'm an LSU fan, so the rule change would help my team too, but when you look at it logically and realistically, it's absurd to even suggest it.

quote:Yea, exactly (that was me, BTW). I don't think it's any coincidence that Oklahoma, Auburn, and Texas A&M did the most damage to Alabama's defense last season... And what do you know, they all ran the HUNH offense against them.
