THE Key difference between our coach and Coastal’s is that our Coach is mature enough to understand that he has to maintain a level of calm and leadership in order to lead his team.
After Dickinson was called out after he was hit by a pitch in game one, Jay was asked in the post game Press Conference why he didn’t get more animated with the umpires. His answer: my team needs me to maintain my composure in high stress situations. In order to be the leader that I need to be, I can’t get over emotional and argue with the umpires simply because I don’t like a call in a game of this magnitude.
Coastal’s coach has a huge chip on his shoulder. In no world should any coach get that over emotional, that angry so early in the game.
The home plate umpire warned the first base coach first. Then warned the head coach. Gave the head coach TWO more warnings. Schnall kept walking toward the umpire instead of returning to the dugout. Cursed at the umpire and was thrown out. He asked for it, and got it.

Somebody compared Coastal Carolina to UCF football and it couldn't have been more spot on.
Just an entire team and fan base that over estimated their ability and greatness.
Then you have a coach who took the baton with great pride to be the biggest chip on the shoulder Chanticleer of them all.
It was the perfect example of show me about it, don't tell me about it. And they crumbled when it came time to showing.

I agree. Just don't think you toss anyone over words before mid game. That said UCF never made the actual Championship game.

Going to come up a bunch in College Baseball discussions. Heck some may even wonder who won that game where the NCAA tossed David before he got a chance to fight Goliath

I would be shocked to see one of LSU's assistant coaches argue with the home plate ump during a game. This goes along with Schnell's comment about assistant coaches being treated like 2nd class citizens during baseball games. Assistant coaches do not talk to the home plate ump about anything at anytime.
Look what happened to the Tenn. assistant softball coach who barged out of the dugout to argue balls and strikes at the WCWS. Tossed immediately.
Wes wouldn't allow that to happen at Georgia. He wasn't allowed to do that at Arkansas under DVH or at LSU under JJ.

I just heard a local newscast from two guys who were on the field pregame and they said he had to be talked to before the game even started.

Dude came in all fired up and was yelling the whole first inning, probably trying to spark his team or something. They seem to thrive on that type of energy.

I mean it was 1-0 and the second 5-3, so that's one swing of the bat for either game with LSU full of blue chips and CC very talented but no where near the resources ....
