U are getting confused with the U case or you are hoping they boggled the Ole Miss case the way they did that one. Either way u are screwed because nothing in any story on this case point to that.

I would buy you a beer right now you poor little guy. How could denial be the stage you are still in? After all of the lies fed to you guys from the beginning, how could you believe absolutely anything from your camp? I feel sorry for you and I now know that nobody here will take you serious after this pitiful display of stupidity you felt the need to share with the board.

Powell is a prime example of what destroyed Ole Miss. Lie , threaten, sue , deflect and spin. Congrats at pissing off the Ncaa, you are going to get a hammer so big that Goliath couldn't lift it.

So you immediately follow up this:

quote:

Only the COI knows what's going on.

With this:

quote:

However, the committee is already reportedly stepping back from the enforcement division.

Sounds like you're only believing the rumors that you want to hear.

I believe that particular rumor comes from the OM media who have been pretty inaccurate thus far.

I hope they sue. Drag it out more. Recruit under those circumstances. It will kill you. Get punishment and clean house. Start over. Sooner than later kids will be interested in playing for OM again.

Blah blah blah blah.

The NCAA took too long to investigate?? Newsflash. Ole Miss was caught cheating while the NCAA was in town. It takes a while to investigate when the cheating continues to go on.

And the NCAA is going to come unraveled and collapse you say? Ok. Stand over there with the delusional fans from other teams that have said the exact same thing.

Ole Miss is getting the hammer. It's coming. Ole Miss is about to be irrevelant for the next decade while Mississippi State chugs on. It's happening. Death.. taxes...hammer dropping on Ole Miss. The hammer hasn't even fell yet and this current class that is committed is poor by sunbelt standards. Think of what the next ones are going to be like.

So true, lot of recruits did not like hearing about Ole Miss secretly recording recruits on phone conversations to be used in Lawsuits. Even though it now appears there never was such a tape, it's already hurt them by claiming they had one.

You see what happened lately? Half their commits have decommited and want nothing to do with Ole Miss. So yes, I hope they keep the lawsuits going and drag this out forever.

The NCAA took too long to investigate. It stands to reason that if you have years to look under the hood of both the NCAA and any collegiate program, you'll find a lot of bad stuff that shouldn't be mentioned.

quote:

The violations occurred, and recurred, over five and a half years, including during the investigation when attention to compliance should have been paramount.

Yes, I'm sure the COI will be very upset with the NCAA for the length of time because OM kept committing violations while they were investigating.

Yes Chesire Hog, but I don't look at it as a false dichotomy. For sure, only the Committee knows what's going on but the evidence of separation from the investigation or enforcement group didn't come out of the Ole Miss camp. It started when Merkel shut down the back door exit from the committee. This move intensified the seriousness of each members decision. Now there is no safety net. While not being checkmate, it was a serious and concerning move. Notice of the cracks in the foundation started then.

The NCAA enforcement division is separate from the COI. The committee is selected from outside the employed members of the enforcement division. They are not hired NCAA personnel and are selected from different sources.

They get paid by the same source.

Southofhere, if the hammer comes down, most likely you'll get your wish. Ole Miss will have nothing to lose. However, as I said, the real damage won't be the Ole Miss suit. It'll be from other sources and it'll be bad.

Where do you get this nonsense you are spewing? We know exactly what the CoI knows because the CoI is given the NoA's and the responses, which have all been released, albeit with the names redacted. The current ongoing lawsuits have no bearing on this case.

Bamawriter, I don't think the COI gets paid a salary. They may receive operating expenses, but they are independent of the investigative committee and are not NCAA employees. Now I do assume they are covered with a good D&O which should protect them some, but they are out there separate from the core NCAA workers. I read that the D&O issuers are also concerned about this case. They are putting pressure on the NCAA too. They don't want to lose additional massive amounts of money. As I stated the past legal cases have financially hurt the NCAA and the future cases are of grave concern. In the previous Ole Miss sanctions regarding the COI indicated the NCAA investigators stepped over the line. On most cases the COI agrees with the investigators, but on the more complicated issues like the Ole Miss case, they frequently differ. As I said, all the social media experts forecasting doom don't know squat and all of the predictions are just that, they are guesses. Only the committee knows for sure what's going to come down. it could be extremely bad for Ole Miss or they could take the self-imposed sanctions.

Ole Miss is not an important enough program for anyone to care if the NCAA decimates them.

Ole Miss can and probably will sue if the sanctions are beyond reason.

That would get them kicked out of the NCAA. frick it! I hope they do. You should tell them to go ahead and sue them.
