USC investigation was based entirely off spurned wannabe agents that were pissed they didn't get to leech off Bush as planned after paying him and his family while he was at USC. It broke after he was done at USC when he was getting sued by those agents and rather then settling with both decided to try and screw one. Funny thing is he'd have gotten away with it with a couple hundred thou and a NDA. USC was foiled by Bush's greed and stupidity (and OJ mayo helped too).

This doesn't parallel that case. For one, feds weren't involved. That alone will speed up the process. Nobody is obligated to cooperate with the NCAA if they aren't an athlete in college, but that's not the case with Federal investigations. The FBI isn't going to just sit on a case for 5 years if they have evidence. Second boosters weren't paying him to play the people doing it had no ties to the school. Third Bush wasn't shopping himself to schools during his recruiting process.

There's a lot more out there in this case early, and it's not hinging solely on the word of a convicted drug dealer. The NCAA will have to go through their process still, but once whatever evidence the feds have comes out they'll be able to determine what they are going to do fairly swiftly most likely.

i wish i knew how this whole thing was going to unfold so i can stop being emotionally invested and JUST have fun watching it happen. the not knowing part is actually very exhausting, not the topic matter.

I am sure you have your reasons for being emotionally invested. But the way I look at it it does not involve Bama in anyway so its all good watching the squirming going on down on the plains WORST case senario is that Cam plays, the barners get no penalties and all every other team in the SEC gets to do is constantly give them shite about who all they paid off to get off for the next 20 years Like most things the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle though.

i couldn't be more glad. i'm 100% positive that your level of intelligence wouldn't be of any use in this thread.

Oh, looks like someones a little emotional. I couldn't care less what you think of my level of intelligence, as I have not been here long enough for you to gain an accurate approximation of my intelligence. You're just mad I didn't post something like, "The NCAA is totally scared of the newtons, good post bro!" And you just look to the right of my name and see an "AU" and that instantly decides the tone of your post.

To think that the NCAA is in any way intimidated by or scared by the Newtons is laughable. If anything they love all the attention they are getting out of this. The only thing that would be possible would be a cover-up as it would benefit both parties. They aren't just going to let something this publicized slide.
