I agree. Good news for AU. What is means is the NCAA has NOTHING at this point to conclude ANYTHING happened outside of Cecil's actions.
As I pointed out many times to some of the retards here, Cecil soliciting money from MSU without Cam's knowledge does not make Cam ineligible at AU.
What this means is the NCAA has no evidence that Cam had any knowledge or that a payment was ultimately made.
Given the amount of time this has been out there (about 6-10 months) and the intense scrutiny and investigation over the past month, I would say this bodes well for AU.
As long as nothing NEW that is not presently known comes to light, AU should be in the clear and a lot of people will look like asses.

Which according to the rules, is irrelevant.

No, it means they have no evidence ATM, since they are still investigating.

Otherwise, this sets a precedent that any father of a gifted athlete can solicit his son's services for money as long as the father does not tell his son that he is doing it
Why do people keep saying something so stupid??
Cam would have been ineligible at MSU, even without knowledge. The rules state the player is ineligible at the institution where money was solicited from.
So, in the scenario which dumbasses keep repeating, the player would be ineligible at every institution which was solicited. So, no a player cannot be shopped around.
And the NCAA found no evidence Cam was shopped to AU, only MSU.

It's insanely stupid to keep trying to tell Aubies this doesn't mean anything. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks now, but 3 years from now, everything will be a bit more clear.

Miami, I wouldn't blow this off as nothing, either.
I am not. I am just saying it bodes well. It shows that the NCAA has found no wrong doing as far as AU is concerned to date. That could change, but at the moment, it is a good sign. Weeks and weeks into an investigation and NADA.

Doesn't the SEC have a rule that the player would be ineligible at all schools within the conference though? I thought I read that somewhere throughout this whole ordeal.

Regardless of what the NCAA says today, if anyone actually believes that the Newtons weren't paid by Auburn or Auburn boosters, they are incredibly naive. This is Auburn after all, one of the dirtiest programs in the history of college football.

And it is insanely stupid to keep explaining shite to retards on this board that can't interpret a rule to save their life.

Hey, don't lump us all together. Not all of us are "all in" to that extent.

You're the dumbass. Why don't you try reading the SEC bylaw instead of parroting what the other barners are saying.
Since you're just a parrot I'll show it to you.
14.01.3.2
"If at any time before or after matriculation in a member institution a student-athlete or any member of his/her family receives or agrees to receive, directly or indirectly, any aid or assistance beyond or in addition to that permitted by the Bylaws of this Conference (except such aid or assistance as such student-athlete may receive from those persons on whom the student is naturally or legally dependent for support), such student- athlete shall be ineligible for competition in any intercollegiate sport within the Conference for the remainder of his/her college career."

It doesn't exactly show this. It could show that the evidence they have needs to be more firm. They don't want another Masoli situation, and they needed an answer for the BCSCG.

The rule states once one institution is solicited, he is ineligable at all institutions in the SEC, regardless of him soliciting or not. He would have been just as ineligable at Vandy as he is at AU.

No, you are close, but that again came from people not reading the rule close enough. That one that was quoted was from an institution standpoint where an institution engaged in trying to buy a player.

By laughing at all the retards who said that the NCAA was sitting on some big info that was just about to break? No the frick I'm not. I know this isn't over but frick you if you think I'm not going to laugh my arse off knowing that, based on all of the evidence the NCAA has, Cam is an eligible student-athlete when all of these idiots circle jerked for weeks about the death penalty.
