"We should send the military into the streets of any city where enough people oppose our Dear Leader!"
"What about the Posse Comitatus Act, the First, Third and Fourth Amendments to the Constitution, and the inherent danger of allowing whoever's president to intimidate his political opposition with military force?"
"Uh, you're a Commie."
Again, it's actually nice to see y'all drop the mask of caring about stuff like "the law" or "rights" or "American values." Open fascism just suits you better.

It’s also just not compatible with the idea of wanting a leaner, more lethal military. They’re gardening in DC.
When the Guard gets tasked with these "missions" its all volunteers. Some in the Guard are good soldiers, have good jobs or school they cant leave (or they will get out) so what you get are the unemployed and underemployed retards that see going on Orders as a good thing.
There is a video of Texas National Guard trying to string concertina wire at the Border and its comedy gold. Several required medical attention.

Plenty of guardsmen try to get as many retirement points as they can. Going on active orders isn’t because they’re retarded bums nor bad soldiers.

I agree. The citizens of those shite holes should wallow in what they voted for.

Sunburb Germantowns nice but Memphis is terrible. Glad the feds are cleaning it up. But agree those cities should be next on the list

retirement points
Back in the day they (feds) would put everybody on Title 10 (just like active duty). You get points, BAH all that. If you got hurt the feds took responsibility. Then it went to Title 32, also a good deal for the soldier
What they do now is put people on State Active Duty. Thats just base pay, no points, no BAH, you get hurt oh well. So the best and brightest will dodge those "missions"

You don't understand Memphis is a 3rd world country.

Not in this case. Tennessee Governor requested them.

Nashville isn't the quiet city it used to be either. People are tired of the criminals having the upper hand. What most cities tolerate today was unthinkable when I was growing up. Need to get the right people back in office in these towns.

Dude,
Just in recent history Eisenhower, JFK (twice), LBJ (5 times), George HW Bush, all federalized and deployed National Guard troops, in many cases even though the governors objected.
And if you don't believe a thug sticking a pistol to your chest demanding your wallet, is a federal violation, you needs to study civics. Even in "good" areas the thugs are breaking into people's cars or stealing them out of their driveways. The crime situation is totally out of control in Memphis.
Every family member I have who lives in Memphis packs heat because the crime is so bad.

20 years ago this would be unbelievable.
20 years ago we had National Guardsmen at every passenger airport and in New Orleans after Katrina because the local authorities were overwhelmed. All while the majority of Army combat forces in Iraq were National Guard.

Memphis is a third world shithole. Hopefully people welcome the guard

Atlanta
Atlanta has a mayor, DA, and police chief that are actually tough on crime and have a bail system. It's cities like Chicago and others with woke DA's/mayors/police chiefs who don't enforce law and when someone does get arrested, they walk out with no bail, and also defund police bullshite. Atlanta has none of that. The leaders are democrats, and wokeish, but not like the other big cities that are completely lost.

I get the whole conservative/libertarian position when it comes to this type of thing. Normally, I'm right there with you. But this is different. Our cities are being taken over by criminals. Elected officials are turning their backs and not doing their jobs. The president refuses to let this country rot from within and be taken over by a bunch of socialist thug criminals.
Good for him.

I took the wrong exit in Memphis the night before the Liberty bowl in 2021 and things looked ugly quickly.
Liberty Bowl is right north of Orange Mound. Not the best place to make a wrong turn.
