I like the bottom of the depth chart portaling. I wouldn’t call it suffering.
This.

We had a few guys leave that weren’t getting playing time. Now, they will get to start, some in the SEC, and Texas upgrades.

Win-Win. No suffering.

Is that true? Unheard of in this era of free agency we call the transfer portal. Congrats,

I will say this, not as big of a deal since it looks like they’re going to slow roll in the roster limits as opposed to immediately as originally intended.

This Spring Portal looked more like the one Josh Pate was warning us about last year, so anyone who didn't have to rebuild their depth, I think, is a huge advantage going into next season.

As most of us are painfully aware, recruiting from the transfer portal is only part of the job. Coaches also have to keep recruiting their own rosters to keep them home. I'm reading about "collectives" that are gearing up first and foremost for retention, not sitting in a dark room thinking about going on wholesale buying sprees.

GMs and HCs are saying that it's a lot cheaper to retain talent than it is to recruit, so that seems the smartest way to do business even now. I'm guessing that everyone's "collectives" are allocated a certain way, but it looks like we're all thinking about keeping the band together as much and as long as possible, and spending according to what damage has been done.

I doubt if it's science. Maybe they just dig the coaching staff and playing together. I know that sounds like some old-school thinking, but I'm going with that for now.

The first step to recovery after a major transition from 17 years of stability is to stop the bleeding. I see this as a very positive sign that this is now DeBoer’s team. Anyone disgruntled has had plenty of opportunity to leave.

How come Alabama was able to beat LSU last season? This coming season will be no different.
