That is an awesome pic! Bet it was a blast.

But, GD it looks hot and if I put my nose close enough to the screen I can smell the body odor. Great share, thanks! Brings me back to a simpler time myself... even if I'd really only want to go there in my mind.

Top 5 LSU — 1950’s

1. The roar of 60,000 when you score
2. The old camp-out (tents) tailgating
3. Making football banner slogans at DKE
4. Watching girls shower via Jean LePere’s telescope to identify targets prior to launching a successful mass panty raid — Yes DKEs invented the idea of the MASSIVE PANTY RAID in 1953. Earlier gay versions involved guys getting into hallways & politely rapping on doors begging for it — nahhhhhh! Pokey was Captain of the DKE Raiding Party and Chief instigator of a three fraternity panty raid where over 100 girls were carried off into the Louisiana night to waiting blankets by the lake and boom boom time! The days!
5. Road trips to fill our 20 Kegs for free at Dixie Brewery on Tulane Ave in New Orleans. Beer was fkn ridiculously expensive then so we’d sneak in after midnight with help from some friends and load up and get howling drunk on the ride home. some nights we’d stop and steal women from the Tulane clowns and have NOLA Lakefront beer blasts

Despite the heat due to the lack of A/C, I miss living in the stadium dorms. Game days were awesome! I would dress out in my band uniform at the dorm then walk across campus to the band hall. I always got fed at several tail gates along the way and never had to rely on that "simple but nourishing meal" that we got at the band hall.

Did you know that a fifth of scotch fits perfectly in the inside jacket pocket of a band uniform? (And we NEVER got searched for contraband at the gate!)

I miss Bama NOT having an SJW dominated Crimson and White student newspaper that did not censor comments under articles.

I also miss the absence of a cancerous Office of "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion." I miss not having to worry about UA becoming Mizzou and seeing all the progress at UA reverse.

Cotton district has become too crowded with too many apartment buildings.
Downtown bar scene in starkville sucks compared to when I was there.

Except Bama already had one of the largest Black enrollments of any state flagship institution in the nation. Certainly, UA already had almost twice the percentage of Blacks as Auburn. UA had one of the largest numbers of Black faculty in the nation as well. So your meme is just outdated.

lol... If Auburn hadn't been dragging their feet, continuingly disqualifying, and tied up in court to keep Harold Franklin from enrolling until 1964 (just as UA had done equally as adverse to desegregation), Wallace would have been standing on Auburn's campus instead of the UA. And, he tried every which way to screw over Auburn's security plans and support from the state when the day finally came.

UA couldn't control the racist actions and political stunts of a segregationist Governor. But, don't pretend that Auburn was opening the doors for desegregation either.

21 years after, Auburn had to be ordered again to integrate further.
1985: Auburn remains the most segregated campus in Alabama
quote:

Federal district judge has labeled Auburn University the most segregated campus in Alabama and given Gov. George C. Wallace until mid-February to devise a plan to remove remnants of segregation from Alabama universities.

''The evidence tends to support the widespread perception of blacks in Alabama that, except for the presence of black athletes and the changes mandated by Federal laws and regulations, Auburn's racial attitudes have changed little since the 50s,'' Judge U. W. Clemon said in his 100-page ruling.

His ruling was issued Saturday, the day a black athlete at Auburn, Bo Jackson, won the Heisman Trophy for the best college football player of the year.

Auburn had a black student enrollment of slightly more than 2 percent last year, and blacks made up 0.6 percent of the faculty.

Going to Skeeter's Big Biscuits in Gainesville after partying all night. Food was amazing, but the atmosphere was incredible. Some nights they would have live bands playing. I hated to see it close down and actually didn't know it had until I tried to go eat there.

Decent leaders.

We've gone from Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to shithead leftist Michael Young in 10 years.
