Your arguments are circling the drain.

And it doesn't matter what YOU think about the town and the university. It's what RECRUITS think. THAT's the material point and the reason we are telling Johnny:

Congratulations. You have successfully perceived the crux of Johnny's dilemma. In a tragic indictment of our nation's educational system, you are apparently the gold star student of this thread.

I don't see a dilemma.

I believe he loves aTm. I also believe he doesn't love it more than he hates CS... otherwise he probably wouldn't have tweeted about it.

He hates CS enough to want to leave aTm in the dust.

Why the hell are you being so touchy and sarcastic about everything I post, by the way?

What are you talking about, moron? I'm saying the SEC only took you because 13 members was inconvenient. If we hadn't left the B12, you'd still be humping Jim Delaney's leg.

Straight from the ultimate aggie source, wikipedia. College Station is home to the main campus of Texas A&M University, the flagship institution of The Texas A&M University System. The city owes both its name and existence to the university's location along a railroad.

What point are you trying to make here? That A&M is located in College Station? Truly, you are a genius.

Glib doesn't even begin to describe this post.

Recruits do not make the distinction you are trying to make. It was a VERY harmful statement that is now national news. What do you think recruits are doing right now?

I've got no problem with it. His tweets were dumb, made him look bad, and he should have known they would cause a PR firestorm.

That said, the overreaction to his overreaction has been insane. One poster even said they wished he'd tear his ACL. That's just ridiculous.

By the way, as far as I've been able to tell, the big source on this is fricking TexAgs.

I KNOW his tweets are potentially harmful for recruiting. And YES, he shouldn't have made the tweets. But the fact that recruits might get the wrong impression doesn't mean one shouldn't engage in posters on SECRant about it.

Johnny loves A&M, but is probably gone after this year. His frustrations w/ the City of College Station, due to (probably unreasonable) dissatisfaction w/ the way CSPD has treated him, are giving him another reason to go.

My apologies. Yours is a very reasonable take. (Though I'd say the lure of the NFL would probably draw him away from A&M even if he loved CS).

Dealing w/ the mizzou idiot probably predisposed me to read your posts in an unfavorable light, and that was my bad.

I know they don't make that distinction. I know about Shaun Nixon's tweet to Johnny. But I can't set the record straight for the recruits. And Sumlin, not me, is the one to deal w/ Johnny. I'm just a guy talking w/ other posters on the Rant.

Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, had been fishing in Port Aransas on Saturday and was still on the coast when he talked over the phone to an officer, who wrote him a ticket for being parked the wrong way in front of his house and for his windows being tinted too dark (his vehicle was in College Station while he was with friends in Port Aransas), according to the insider. Manziel tweeted out his frustrations in dealing with the matter, quickly removed the post, followed with a tweet that he loved A&M but for people to please walk in a day in his shoes.

Oh, so that's the point you were talking about.

What's your problem with it? It's the same as if I said there are probably Auburn grads that live in and love Athens, Ga., despite their hatred for the Dawgs. Or Vol fans that live in Memphis, but don't care for the school there.

Yes, the tweets were a PR problem for both Johnny and A&M.

My problem is obvious. There are certain towns that exist only because of the university. There is no other draw to them.

Columbia Missouri
Fayetteville Arkansas
College Station

Austin is a college town, but most would agree it has more.

Memphis has more

Athens... probably doesnt have more.
