Brennan probably received all of the money for his deals upfront. And since NIL contracts cannot be tied to performance, the deals remain valid despite the fact that he will not be playing.

There may be ways to void the deals now that Brennan is retired. It may be possible that some of the deals had terms that were tied not to performance, but to actively being part of the program.

The odds that Brennan’s contracts ever become public are next to zero, so there is a slim chance that we will never know the answer of what happens next. However, it seems nearly impossible that a company could take back money that it has already paid out.

That means that likely Brennan got his money during the spring and summer as he competed for a starting job, retired, and still gets paid.

Good for him.

This is why the market will correct itself as it relates to high value recruits and players getting ridiculous amounts of NIL money.

A&M did pay for play though. Myles is getting paid for his name, image and likeness for being a member of the LSU program the last five years. Way different and how NIL is supposed to be.

Looks like a whole lot of speculation to me, with no actual knowledge.

If he's sued by the vendors, his contracts becoming public are next to a certainty

not true if his contract required he actually play football for LSU this season.

So they say this but also say they don't know what his NIL contracts entail. They have no idea the payment schedule for his NIL deals.

That entire blurb is nothing but speculation from an largely ignorant member of the media

I believe it will for players like him. Not sure about the 5 stars out of high school though. They will only go where they pay upfront. Even if the NCAA legislates some rule that players cannot do this, they will just take money from under the table like before NIL.

Nothing keeps them pulling a Quinn Ewers move though.

Paying a recruit a ton of money used to lock them in at your school essentially, the portal has taken that away.

Pay the man his money.

Pay all of them.

Hell, if some NIL group is willing to fork over the cash to young men from 18-23 years of age, more power to them.

That's a hell of an age of person you are depending on. Some of the most undependable people out there with a severe case of "let's do something stupid".

We all were young and dumb, once. It's crazy to put that money out there but if/when you do, you are pretty likely to have a bad outcome.

TLDR- pay up, sucker.

Thanks for telling us what we already know. LSU upholds it’s end of the deal. Not a good look going forward with recruiting for A&M when it doesn’t uphold its end of the deal.

I was tempted to make a wise-arse comment about your school, but your post was a good reminder that all zingers should be directed at the dumbass who created the thread.
