If they win 10 games, including bowl, but lose to LSU and Auburn as well as Tennessee, they'll be some grumblings.

I would agree with this.

I think Saban has another pass this year. We have a great schedule next year with most of the tough ones at home except Auburn and he will feel the heat if we are not competing for the west in 09' I think.

Another loss to Auburn will put him squarely on the hot seat. Sad thing for Bama is that 7 wins is optimistic. The expectations after the RECRUITING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP will not accept that kind of record.

Oh, Sane one. You know that the ones that should be living in Bryce State Hospital will not feel that way. They are expecting perfection this year and want nothing less. Unfortunately for the fans like you, the Bryce State resident bama fans are very loud.

Scoop, I just don't see him getting a complete pass this year. The heat will be on after the expectation set by recruiting.

BTW, Saban loathed the media in BR because they minded his business too much (in his mind). Can you imagine how he feels under the microscope in Bama? I truly believe that if UW offers anything close to Bama along with less scrutiny (which is a given) and his friend offering the job then he will be gone regardless of how good or bad Bama does this year. I also believe he knows booster influence will bring the walls down sooner than later and he does not want to sink with the ship.

good christ if the little dick does to UW, i would laugh my arse off. however, my hatred for the gump nation will still remain at the same level in my personal hate-o-meter.... i also think that bama's science program funding will reach new heights in order to create a clone of bear, but they'll probably frick that up as well!

Some people down here that know the Saban's say that they hate Alabama. I dont know if it's true are not but if it is and someone offers something substantial after this year and nothing has changed good luck on the coaching search bama because let's be honest a portion of your fans are pretty damn crazy. We all have em but bama seems to have more than most.

ok didn't u 1st say wash. has boosters UNWILLING to pay for sabans salary? and also u said saban is leaving because of uncontrollable ongoings happening around him involving meyer being upset. But then u said meyer is upset at 3 other teams as well (seems like those coaches are handeling meyer being angry just fine)

Whether you like Saban or not, I think this is probably one of the more accurate statements. If he suspects or someone has told him they have the goods on boosters or someone else doing illegal stuff with recruits he will not want his name associated with it. He does not want his "legacy doomed" and tied with Alabama Football if he finds out dirty shite is happening.

He is not going to let a rogue booster(s) ruin his legacy and he is not going to stay at Alabama through probation for any amount of money.

My Tuscaloosa sources tell me Saban enjoyed a normal morning:

He called his secretary at 3:59 to berate her for her sloppy usage of a semicolon, he cut down a neighbors tree that was obscuring his view of the lake at 4:01, he ran six miles between 4:03 and 4:28, he cooled down until 4:28:04,he brokedown an entire year of Clemson game film from 4: 29 to 5:59, ate two Little Debbies with orange juice and read and committed to memory the entire issue of Wall Street Journal from 5:59 to 6:04, and drove to the Alabama Football operations office. He is devising a plan for world domination as we speak.

BamaScoop, since you seem to be a very sane Alabama poster, I will ask you to give me your opinion on something. What do you think will be the fan/booster reaction if Alabama wins 7 or 8 games this year (including a bowl game), but lose to LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee? Is he immediately on the hotseat? Is there so much "heat" that Saban possibly bolts before the 09 season? Does it not matter because his record improved, thus he has a pass for 09 too? Just asking your honest opinion.

+1 - watch the video from when Saban first arrived in Bama. You would think the Pope was in town. Some random trailer chick kissed him, and Gumps near and far had come to see him. That had to creep him out, and I'm sure it's only gotten worse the longer he's been there.

UW would be a perfect situation for him, far more than Bama.
