My LSU/Florida story

I may give LSU fans crap this week but y'all are really some of my favorite rival fans. Here is why.
The year was 1993 during the era of Spurriers ownership of LSU. My brother and I had traveled to Red Stick for the game which the Gators won 58-3. It was said to be LSUs worse loss of all time at the time. As winners usually do we waited until the crowd thinned out before we left our seats.
We walked out the stadium and through the parking lot. About that time some Cajun guy sitting on his tailgate hollered, "Hey Gator boys come on over here." I slowly turned in their direction, my brother then said "Don't go over there, you are going to get our asses kicked". Being young and foolish I went over anyway. The Cajun then handed me a beer and said, "I gotta tell ya fella y'all got the damnedest team I ever saw". He handed me a smoked sausage and said try one of these, these are good."
We talked for about 20 minutes and I have to say he was the nicest old man I ever met. I don't hate LSU fans like I do Dawgs, Vols and them fake Tigers over at Auburn.

good story
i wish i had something good to say about a trip to florida. most of the people i encountered were arrogant assholes. but i know that the people i likely interacted with are not indicative of a fan base.
bama fans by and large are cordial
aubrun fans suck
ole miss fans are nice if they suck, but beat them with something on the line and they are the worst (2003 trip to oxford was the worst rival fan experience of my life)
georgia is good people
aggies are weird
state fans are good folk
uk fans only care about basketball
havent found any mizzou or carolina fans
i wish i had something good to say about a trip to florida. most of the people i encountered were arrogant assholes. but i know that the people i likely interacted with are not indicative of a fan base.

I kid, had a similar situation in 1989 when UF won by a last minute field goal. Hung out in the local bars with some really good LSU fans that just wanted to talk football and have a good time.

If you stay away from the drunk frat boys and the drunk sidewalk fans you’ll be fine in most places. Unfortunately, those two create the perception that a large number of a schools fans are aholes.

Too bad everyone I encountered on my trips to Gainesville were obnoxious a-holes. Haven't even met cool Gator fans in Tiger Stadium. Very uppity.

If you ask a Nole, Cane or Dawg if they could chose one team to beat they would all answer UF. I'd say we are probably #2 on Auburn & Tennessee's lists too only behind Bama.

F$U fans can't seem to get it through their thick skulls that we may be their biggest rival but they aren't ours. That honor belongs to UGA.
