Do you know what kind of cables are already run? Either gonna be cat cable (computer network) or BNC "siamese" (two cables together) coax.

BNC cables
Looking for a little advice here, I am not very savvy on the subject so let me tell you what I have and how I use it, then I am open for suggestions.

About 10 years ago my dogs were digging holes in my back yard and in order to figure out which one was the culprit and catch him in the act I put in a cheap security camera system from Harbor Freight. It came with 4 cameras with outlets for 4 more. I hooked it up to an old computer monitor I had laying around and it served its purpose. A couple of years later I added 2 front yard cameras that I use simply to see who is coming up the driveway and who is at the front door. I live in a pretty secure neighborhood and don't really need them for security reasons although I did catch a guy on tape breaking into my truck once.

OK so here is what is happening. The other night the DVR unit blew and I am missing it already. So here is where I am at. Either find a DVR unit compatible with my existing cameras or upgrade to a wireless system that will do the simple things I want. With the old system I never set it up to use remotely with my cell phone. That might be nice but not really a deal breaker.

I'm not looking for some state of the art system, just something low cost that will do what my old system did and I would rather not have to crawl through the attic to run new wires.

I'd be proud if my kids were as clean cut and well spoken as Trumps kids.....If one of my boys had turned out like Hunter I'd kick his arse.

I may take a dip in the pool

I was the building inspector for the Windermere area of Orlando for a few years. You ain't gonna impress me. I did inspections on Shaq's, Tigers, Ken Griffey Jrs and all the kids from Insyncs houses. The biggest house I ever inspected was David Segals Versailles. 14 Bedrooms 32 baths.

I like this house better than all of them though. It was one I inspected in Mt Dora.

This was my favorite of all the houses I inspected. This video is the inside of the 12 car Garage of this house. The 2nd floor of the garage had a 50s soda fountain and a movie theater that overlooked the 12 car garage. I don't have to tell you about the cars the guy brought into that garage.
When someone blows their horn at me in traffic I suddenly become 10ft tall.
When I was a kid our next door neighbor was a Judge. He got a divorce and moved out. His ex-wife was murdered a couple of years later with a claw hammer. Everybody thought the judge did it but nothing was ever proven.

You probably enjoyed the anal probe too.
I could never take my own life so if I wanted to die I would have to get creative. Like drawing a gun on a police officer, using the N word in a ghetto basketball game or calling the wife a bitch.
I always wondered how the Eddie Murphies and the Chris Rocks could get away with Cracker jokes.
My wife is more of a mother to her grandkids than she ever was to her kids. Maybe because we had 3 boys and she felt like it was up to me to teach them fishing, hunting, baseball and shite like that.

Interesting that you post this... My dad caught someone breaking into his Tahoe a couple hours ago in the city baton rouge. He yelled something to the guy, but when he turned around with a pistol on him, dad hauled arse and locked himself back inside!
I had that happen about 40 years ago. I caught a guy breaking into my truck and pulled him out with the intention of beating the crap out of him but he stuck a gun in my face and I too hauled arse.

They did catch the guy a couple of nights later at another house and I identified him in a lineup.

Security cameras do nothing to stop robberies. They just give you something to post on Nextdoor and bitch a little
Actually I put the system in so I could monitor my dog in the back yard when she was a pup. She had a habit of digging holes and I needed to catch her in the act. The two front cameras were added later and they do come in handy. I can see who pulls up my driveway before they get here.

LOL my wife caught me peeing in the back yard once.

Probably have to be the same brand if it's IP cameras. What brand?
It is a cheapo model I bought at harbor freight about 10 years ago. A Bunker Hill I don't think I want to go that cheap this time although the old one did last close to 10 years and the 4 original cameras that came with it are still good. The one bad camera was an add on.
Actually I am looking for a little advice.

My security camera dvr just blew. I'm wondering if I can just replace the DVR and who makes a good one. I had an 8 camera system but only had 6 cameras hooked up. One went bad a few months ago but the other 5 still work. I hate to buy a system with cameras since my cameras are still good.
My younger brother got the 29 ford with the condition that it never leaves the family. We grew up restoring that old car but my brother drove it to his wedding. We thought it was only fitting that he got it. I edited this to add the pictures, the first was taken in 1977 the second just a couple of years ago. You can tell it is well maintained.
