Dude took a 9 win Nevada program to 24 wins the first year....followed it up with conference championships and a sweet 16 run.

Dude can coach.

Who did you want? Musselman seems like a good get for you guys

Marshall, Sampson, Huggins, Matta. Theres a long list of ones I would have picked before him.

He's not the worst we could do. But he's definitely not the best

What?

I was previously told that Bruce Pearl would crawl a mile on broken glass for the Arky job.

I am assuming then that y'all didn't even ask? That's cray cray!

quote:

Musselman graduated from the University of San Diego, where he played basketball for Jim Brovelli and Hank Egan, both of whom would later work as NBA assistants. While Musselman was at USD (1983–87), the Toreros compiled a 77-36 record. He was a member of the 1986–87 team that compiled a 24–6 record, the best in school history. The Toreros lost to Auburn University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 62–61.

Eric Musselman already understands who his Daddy is.

What's really funny here are all the Aggys that were on page 1 trying to minimize this hire.

Those idiots just hired a guy who wins less games than the guy we just fired. Aggys opinions on coaching hires are worth less than nothing.

Those guys hired him because of his "stand for the flag" video. It's their super weird culture down there. They never get anything right. NEVER.

True I'm sick of hearing the whiney but but he coached in the NBA. We all expected that if they were really tired of not making tourney runs and fired Anderson they were gonna open the checkbook and get a proven coach and even to the most optimistic this ain't it

We hired Sutton from Creighton, where he had a .621 winning percentage. Nolan had a .778 win percentage at Tulsa, but it was Tulsa. Do those 2 really seem more proven than Musselman's .754 at Nevada? Musselman has better NCAAT experience than Sutton or Richardson before they came to Arkansas.

Beard was my first choice and his D1 winning percentage is lower than Musselman's, in the same amount of time. But I actually like Musselman better then Sampson and Marshall, because both of the latter have peaked. Musselman has extensive coaching experience outside of the NBA, and college level, and he has a positive winning percentage everywhere he's coached, except the NBA.
