quote:So USC is ready to drop, let's guess, 8-10 million on Muschamp for 2-3 years (excluding the staff he would bring in), just to "cockblock" Auburn & AtM who aren't even in their division? And all that for a DC, not even a HC?
Now I'm sure being an AU fan/supporter you know that contracts can be broken and tons of money can be paid to a coach if necessary. Getting it in writing is one thing, if USC decides to pursue another coach after SOS retires then they just pay WM his contract and move on.
Yeah, sounds pretty smart. You should be picking up an AD gig any day now.

Packing my gear and heading to Hotlanta in few hours and jumped on here to see what the latest Muschamp news Sexton had stirred up overnight.

How many coaches are y'all paying NOT to coach at AU right now? Has payroll reached $5million yet?

I think USCe has built a great program in Columbia. IMO, any number of successful HCs would give them a look.
Why let it all ride on Boom?
Because it's not about what happens 3 years down the road, it is about fixing our defense right now. We need someone like Boom.
If it takes a HCIW incentive to get him, then good. But there's no guarantee that another reasonably good program doesn't come calling in that 3 year span to hire him as their HC. HCIW clauses are not absolute.

I can promise you that NOTHING we have or have not done had any intention of doing anything to auburn or aTm. We don't give a shite who y'all's DC is or isn't. What we are reportedly doing is trying to get the best DC possible for SC. It's all about us, we are completely selfish in our actions.

Who knows what Gus intends to do with the remaining defensive staff. I wonder if Muschamp wants any of Ellis' guys coaching for him?

I read If Ellis takes another coaching job, he doesn't get the auburn money. However, if he took some kind of administrative job, he does.

Tell us more how Van Gorder hurt his coaching prowess by coaching opposite a HUNH.

Its AU or SC. No way on A&M. He will be at SCar and be HCIW. You heard it here first.
Kinda like the Texas HCIW?
Texas and SC are vastly different programs

Whether you are intentionally trying to frick Auburn over or not, you are apparently considering offering Muschamp head coach in waiting because it is your only hope of getting him away from Auburn. Even some South Carolina insiders have apparently admitted he would likely take the Auburn job if all things are equal

I saw that and I'm tempted to make threads about it, but I've never heard of that site, or that reporter, and theres not much info in there
eta- and it was posted an hour ago. You've got to think that if hes reliable then other media types would have picked up the story and run with it

Actually ... it's @CoachWmUSCchamp that they all just followed as if they know something is about to happen.
Plus local media is now speculating the rumor that mUSChamp was just seen in Columbia this morning - as if it might be coming from a good source.
