It would be pretty dumb of USCe to offer HCIW to a coach that just got fired from a place where it's hard not to win
He had a horrible QB situation the whole time, rampant injuries in '13 and still through all that, had good recruiting and an elite defense.

And dumb of Muschamp to take it after what happened at Texas.
What happened in TX? He had the HCIW tag, and then left for UF when they offered HC.

Uhh UF has had exactly two successful head coaches: Spurrier and Meyer

Spurrier isn't going to pull a Mack Brown and stay around for years and years and years

he only thing is in this case there is no report. Just USC fans blowing up twitter and message boards with nothing that even suggest he is seriously even considering USC.
Yeah, the media was all over those Mike Riley to Nebraska rumors.

Their fans weren't blowing the Internet up like USC fans about him either. The Muschamp situation has been all over the news since he was first offered but yet no one hears anything but the USC fans when it comes to them.

It's like the late great Biggie Smalls once said, "bad boys move in silence and violence." Some teams show their cards early, fire coaches, make public formal offers, and some teams stack the deck and then show their hand.

Sorry we've got B2 stealth bomber capabilities while y'all are lumbering around like a soviet tank

Eh, they recruited some very highly rated QBs but Champ, for some reason, could not get his staff to develop a QB to save his life.

Re: HCIW...there are additional recruiting restrictions with that title that were implemented while Will was at Texas...
doesn't make sense for SC and Muschamp to agree to use that title if the latest rumors prove true.
Recruiting rules for HCIW

Making Muschamp a HCIW seems like a terribly desperate move

Have you seen our defense?

Have you seen that the guy just got fired for being a .500 coach at Florida? Shouldn't we at least wait to see if he "learns" anything before guaranteeing him another job in the same division at a school with less resources and talent?

No. Yall just have wild imaginations and blew up an opinion based story saying yall could get him if you made him coach in waiting. That's all there is to the story.
There is nothing that even remotely suggest USC has even offered or that Muschamp is even seriously considering them.
Besides it doesn't matter what other fans have the media always has better sources and USC is barely even mentioned.

His defenses are UF were good. He was unfortunate that he inherited Driskel as his QB and hired shite OCs

Muschamp had Trey Burton 3* , Tyler Murphey 2*, Brissett 4* who transferred, b/c 4* Driskell won the job, and then Mornhinweg 3*, he wasn't loaded with talent, and the horse that his OC hitched to, Driskell, was a bust.

It's not ideal, however we are in a hell of a spot. HBC says he will be here 2-3 more years. We are trending down on Defense and are going to have a hard time recruiting anyone with a coach that isn't going to be here when the kids you are recruiting are Jr's. It's not ideal but it seems like either we do something like this or the HBC needs to retire and we hire a head coach now. If we don't do anything the next 2 years will set us back big time

Muschamp recruited two 5*'s, and six 4*'s his last HCIW year in TX, it really doesn't matter as much as you think it does.

It's why great HC's are also great recruiters, they do a lot with the time they have or they, "find a way."

How can you say with a straight face that we have less talent when we've beaten them 4 of the past 5 years....

Not quite true. The late Pell did not win a national championship. But two things he could do was cheat and coach. In fact he "set the table" for Galen Hall, who also cheated and in turn set it for Spurrier's genius.

Because their coach was Will Muschamp and your coach was Steve Spurrier.
Which is exactly my overall point.
