I love the total ignorance on display in this thread. I watched Dan Mullen call offense at UF for 4 years. We literally created a meme for his 6-play offense in 2007. I also saw him run up 50 on asses left and right with talented personnel.

But, please, Ranters - tell me more about his future futility at UF.

What QB has he developed outside of Dak in his time at MSU? He's had an #80 or worse passing offense 4 times. That's bad. He's a mediocre coach and recruiter. We just fired the pro style version

You're insane. Meyer controls the offense and Meyer landed the talent. That's how he can make JT Barrett, Tebow, his 3rd string at OSU look good and Mullen can only get 1 good QB in 9 years at MSU the

You are a very whinny kid. You have never said anything positive.

Mullen was at MISSISSIPPI STATE. Obviously you don't realize how bad they sucked, because you only remember them being pretty decent. Why? Dan Mullen.

Alex Smith, Dak, Tebow, and Fitz is pretty darn good as well poor kid. Considered by many one of the best QB minds in football, so you can save that argument, because no one agrees.

HIs recruiting was actually quite good at Miss State...once again you should pay attention to football. It's MIss State. The Vandy of the West.

The guy got them their first number 1 ranking, ever. Almost doubled their bowl wins..don't know what more you need.

We already know his offense works at Florida. So claiming it won't is the dumbest shite possible. We literally have proof it works, because he did it. Here. In person. For four years. Take that dumb shite somewhere else. If you think he is mediocre, you don't know the meaning of the word. Mediocre doesn't apply to the best coach in a schools history. Which he is at Miss State.

You still have Chimp as your HC, I wouldn't worry about Mullen so much.

I didn't believe that stat, so I looked through Mullen's entire schedule history. It's actually worse than that.

He's 7–32 against teams that are ranked going into the matchup, and 3–35 against teams that have ended ranked (that's counting the win against LSU this year, who will end the season ranked no matter what after a bowl, and the losses to Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama, who will end the season ranked).

All I know is Chip Kelly will be coaching the Gators and that Steve Spurrier is fond of old balls he coaches. Is that not right?

Partially true. But I think UF's offense took a hit after Mullen left. It didn't look the same when Loeffler (sp?) and Addazio were running it. Wasn't there a strong consensus among UF fans that they wanted Mullen back in 09?

Dak was good. Fitz is good. And the trainwreck they had under center when Mullen arrived was vastly improved immediately by him.

They had the toughest schedule in the nation in 2009 and in 2010 finished 4-4 in the SEC, ranked 15th. Everyone above them in the West was ranked higher than them in the final polls. The West was brutally tough that year.

He did a great job there. He has two things to improve on: eliminate the head-scratcher loss each season and get better at recruiting. Florida is a better place but the competition is going to be absurdly high for top recruits. He can't have a roster full of Daks. He's got to get some Harvins in there as well.

I know you aren't too young to remember the Meyer years. Urban is conservative as frick and needs an OC that will push back on him and be aggressive. That's why his offenses with Mullen and Herman as OC were a hell of a lot more effective than those with the Dazzler or Tim Beck, like night and day different.

Now, has Mullen changed since becoming a head coach? Probably. Almost every brash young OC does (look no further than Kiffin at USC who often crawled into a shell in big games). That doesn't mean he can't bring in the right players and right coaches to make the offense work.
