It was?

You and DS would get along well

engie, you were the one who brought up Stony Brook... Is your memory that hazy?
I haven't ever lived through anyone in any of your regionals. Since moving to Mississippi two years ago, I've followed Miss State baseball much closer than I used to. Last year when y'all drew Samford, I thought it unfortunate. This year, the biggest surprise aka bullshite committee move watching the show was y'all getting two #2 seeds and one #3.

Samford made it to the CWS?

Exactly. It was well-placed bait that you bit on. Why did I bring up Stony Brook? Was it in reply to you about something? No -- it was in reply to one of the numerous ignorant assertions of other members of your fan base in this thread.

So, you actually want to discuss it logically? Yes, we got hosed on the draw. But it isn't in a bandbox where opposing teams are going to hit a few popups out of the yard and beat us this year. Doesn't mean anything in reality -- these are 3 good midmajor teams which lack anywhere close to our depth, all of which I feel like we match up pretty well against in our yard. Still got to win the games on the field obviously, which we should take care of -- and we'll see where the chips fall in Charlottesville.

Obviously, they would have had their path to Omaha gone through Baton Rouge.
Again -- Rustle up.

I'm glad you can live vicariously through every other team in our regional. Sounds like pseudo-coonass ignorance, which everyone already knows that this thread is littered with.
Why would LSU fans have to live vicariously through other teams? LSU already won the series at MSU this year.

One in which their fans said was one of the bigger regular season series in the history of their program. They had posters here boasting about Starkvegas would be the difference and home field, blah, blah, blah.

Why are they all trying so hard to then?
Why not admit the fact that regional attendance records are getting destroyed in Starkville this weekend and move on?
Because the fear of our baseball potential is palpable in LSU fans in times like these -- when they see flashes of the monster that CAN exist in Starkville.

I'll take the team that made it to the CWS..
I hope you folks do set the attendance records...

State goes 16-14 in conference, barely gets a host bid, and they are now a "monster".
Take note.
Take note.

State's had a good baseball program in the past, no doubt but MSU attracting 15k to a regional really doesn't feel like a threat to LSU's baseball program.
I think most take pride in the interest in college baseball and hope more schools can attract those kind of numbers.

Hey I'll give it to them, they bring in big crowds. Always have. This weekend should be no different.
UCA - should bring a solid amt of ppl. They're only 5 hrs away and have had a great year.
USA - 3.5 hrs away and will def bring a good crowd.
Mercer- ~5 hrs away but I wouldn't expect them to bring too many relative to the other 2.
