The last time they went to Baton Rouge, KJ Costello set an SEC record with 623 yards passing. For reference, he only had 660 yards combined in 5 games the rest of the season

I think he started one or two games rest of the season. We tend to do better with random one off QBs there anyways

2025

MSU forced Leavitt into by far his worst game with Arizona State last season.

He threw for just 82 yards on 10 completions, throwing one touchdown to two interceptions in MSU’s 24-20 win over the Sun Devils. It was one of two times ASU failed to score more than 20 points in a game Leavitt started. His 45% completion rate was his worst of the season, with the next closest a 59% mark against Texas Tech.

Leavitt’s two interceptions each came with a different kind of pressure. His first, midway through the second quarter, happened after a three-man rush pushed back both edges. Deonte Anderson got home on the right side and forced Leavitt outside the pocket where he short-armed a deep ball into the hands of MSU’s Jayven Williams.

His second came with the pressure of needing a score. Leavitt overshot his man with a hand in his face, giving MSU the ball and the win.

The Bulldogs also had three quarterback hits and two sacks on Leavitt in the win. It was one of two games MSU allowed fewer than 100 yards passing, the other coming against Alcorn State.

2024

Leavitt struggled throwing the ball again in 2024, but made a lot of plays with his legs in MSU’s 30-23 loss.

He threw for just 69 yards on 10 completions, but had 68 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. MSU had zero sacks, and had just one quarterback hit.

And all that was with Jordan Tyson who is better than any WR on LSU’s roster

That's a good point.

Just think if ASU would have had an excellent beast mode RB to take the pressure off of him in '24?

Another LSU thread from an Ole Miss fan. I thought these were supposed to stop after you played us?
