Once again State gives charity runs in the 1st inning to seal a series loss Lindgren came back in too soon. He has obviously been hanging around Evan and Woodruff too much.

At least we didn't see Evan "Walker" Mitchell this weekend.

Your team scored one run. You people need to realize you have more than one problem.

Lindgren didn't pitch today. It was Bracewell that started the game.

Our problem today was not stringing hits together.

3. A bases loaded walk counts as an RBI. You should probably learn baseball before posting.

So our pitcher walked all your runs in and you criticize State for only batting one in?

MSU is in some big time trouble.

Still have series with Vandy, @OM, and SC.

Florida next week then @A&M.

Gonna be a struggle to finish around .500 in conference play.

I agree with this -- but 15-15 in the SEC with what we face should have us near the hosting conversation. 16-14 likely locks up a host site.

As of right now -- 14-11 in our final 25 games(21 SEC--4 nonconference) puts us at RPI #9 to end the season...

LINK

Congrats on another good series win, Hawgs... Hope we get another shot in Hoover..

I doubt you host with that record. Arkansas ended with a better record than that and still didn't host last year. Hell, Kentucky didn't even host.

I agree that 15-15 probably won't get it done though on that technicality by itself -- 16-14 is almost a lock though IMO... Just how the schedule sets up for us this year, and if they look at RPI/ISR as closely as they have in past years...

To get to 16-14 we would have to sweep Auburn, win 4 series out of UF, OM, A&M, Bama, SC, and Vandy. Avoid getting swept in all. I feel we can get 3 of those series to make it to .500 at least.

We are a good team we just have had some bad luck along with some pitching going sour. If we get our shite together we can make a strong push at the end.

I'm with you -- but I think the 3 teams we've already seen are better than(at least) 4 of these 6. If we can get our 2(really 3) aces shite together(health in one case, brain in two others), we should be able to put together a run similar to last year...

Florida is a huge series and they have some momentum after winning the OM series.

MSU can't drop that series.

Must be Moral Victory Sunday, the last day of a series for Ms. State fans.

Engie, the link that predicts you at #9 in the RPI also predicts you tied for 9th in the league. Regardless of RPI, MSU will have a tough time hosting.

Our schedule essentially starts us 3 games behind everyone else before a game is even played. We are the only team in the entire SEC that gets none of the 3 patsies from the East -- instead getting @Vandy, @UK, South Carolina, and Florida.

That's the whole point of RPI and ISR -- the attempt to show how good a team actually is by the cumulative total of wins/losses and SOS. I'm going to look into past years for hosts and see how strictly those formulas were followed.

You've got a really rough league schedule, no doubt. But how many hosts do you think the SEC will get? I don't think the RPI will matter if you finish two games behind Arkansas or Kentucky.

5 is the absolute max and is unlikely...

4 is the likely number...

3 also possible with the "politically/geographically correct" approach and Indiana wrecking shite in the B1G(with Notre Dame and Louisville also looking pretty good in the Big East)...

In the past, I would agree with you about a 2-game difference in the conference, but with the expanded conference and the scheduling discrepancies, I don't think it is nearly as black and white in SEC records as it has been in years past...

Maybe it's just being a homer, but I don't think it's fair to be penalized for finishing 2 SEC games behind a team(UK) who has 9 gimme games in the east vs our 3 gimme games in the west... Especially when we're projected to finish a long way ahead of them in the computer metrics.

Now, if the computer metrics are close and they finish 2 games ahead in conference, I certainly wouldn't have a valid complaint about them getting picked over us. They took the series from us up there head to head after all...

True but Ole Miss also played very sloppy. Even some UF fans in the game thread thanked OM for giving them the series
