The secondary won't be inexperienced by the Egg Bowl.
Better Pass Rush can mask a lot of things.

So just cause you're team isn't performing the way you think they should be you pull money from the program/school.
Great idea

You're entitled to your opinion, but I am not worried about our depth. We will be 2 deep on the D Line and we will have 6 different play making WR's
Are you sure you have someone to throw it to them? You have a QB coming off shoulder surgery and Brunetti. And Brunetti will struggle to get you guys to 6-6 if he has to run the show

I don't see Home Field giving a 15% swing.
Yet in 2001 and 2009, State beat heavily favored OM teams in Starkville. You think we win either of those games on a neutral field?

Bo is throwing and should be fine in time for fall camp

It matters much more vs Ok State- not OM

Okay First that's my opinion and I'm entitled to it just as you are yours ...
Write as "my opinion of what will happen" then -- don't write under the pretense of "best case scenario" and then start skewing.

The LSU game where y'all have a history of NEVER WINNING and we have one of AT LEAST BEING IN THE GAME.
We don't have one of "AT LEAST BEING IN THE GAME"? You literally didn't watch our game against them last year did you? Or 2011? Or 2009? We've been "in the game" with them in 3 of Mullen's 4 years -- including both games at home.
quote:
Ole Miss plays Vandy & Mizzou which we should win both ...
You've lost 5 of the last 6 to Vandy -- which should field it's best team in history next year. Yet it's somehow a "should win" on the road against a team and fanbase that will be fired up like never before? Hilarious.
quote:
If OM were to being playing UGA or UF I'd have us down as a loss but since it's Mizzou ... well c'mon ...
Also hilarious that a team that has averaged 8+ wins over the last decade is suddenly dead meat awaiting an OM slaughter. Mizzou has one down year in which they cleaned house among assistant coaches...and they are suddenly an afterthought? Nevermind that they've got an ELITE rb coming back off injury -- half their OL(which went down early last year) back -- a potentially excellent dual threat QB healthy, etc?
Do you honestly not see how this thought process sets you up for disaster? And it consistently happens every time OM is decent. It's a problem I have with both of our fanbases to be honest with you. Too high on the highs and low on the lows -- while taking things for granted undeservedly.

In 2009, we were a better football team at that point in the season.
In 2001.... I was too drunk to remember. I was not a happy camper that year with the way the football team had played up to that point.

Probably yes because of Cutcliffe and Nutt

Yes but having 6 pretty good receivers we can go to could be a big hurt to a team with an inexperienced secondary like y'all
But let's ignore the huge red herring of you only having one QB that, as of today, can effectively get them the ball -- a QB that is coming off major surgery that consistently puts himself in situations to take way too many hits on a season.
Surely all of you haven't gone full retard on expectations and there are a few logical ones left?

anybody thinking we will go less than 6-6 is kidding themselves
Kidding themselves is a bit strong. Sure, it's unlikely, but to say it's less probable than going 7-5, 8-4 or 9-3 is FAR from accurate.
Let's just agree that .500 or lower is just as possible as over .500 and leave it there...

I guess that's where we disagree. I think we will have a better team based on the fact we return 19 starters and the top recruits we have coming in.
OM fans are fudging their starter numbers, and then applying those to the upcoming Egg Bowl.
However, at least 7 starters for OM in the Egg Bowl are gone. Mackey, Moseley, Pena, Jones, Hawkins, plus both their punter and kicker. Plus Epperson who didn't start but had 2 TFL and a sack against us.
So it is misleading to say they didn't lose any players/starters/production from the 2012 Egg Bowl.

As of today, yes we don't have a guy that can get them the ball. But the season doesn't start today, it starts in 125 days and alot can happen in that period of time. Bo will be fine

Jones and Epperson didn't start. Neither did Mackey.
