You won't win in Starkville, get use to the idea.
See how easy that was.

Damn that turned around fast...

I understand you statements but in regards to y'all versus LSU, that's equivalent to OM versus Bama. Yes y'all CAN win it's just VERY unlikely IMO.
I was just told that the past didn't mean anything for the current games? Fact is -- we giftwrapped the game for them in Baton Rouge last year with a 14 point swing on a Russell pick6 in the endzone in the 4th. This, after we gave them 7 with a Milton fumble on our own 25 -- and a stupid 80 yard td drive in under a minute we basically giftwrapped just before the half. That game played out alot differently than the final score showed. Am I saying that I think we beat them next year? No. But you can't just assume we lose to them and you beat them.
quote:
As to Vandy for they were never taken serious and that's why they have bit us in the arse those years
So, you had to lose 5 in 6 years to take them seriously? Do you not see the illogical propaganda in that statement?
quote:
We have all summer to prep for them ... Oh and in case you forgot we were up 23-6 on them ... a team should never lose a game if they are up like that IMO, but we did. This time around I don't think that will be an issue.
They've got all summer to prep or you too -- in what should be by far their best defense ever -- and possibly the best defense you see all year outside of Alabama. Yes, I think Vandy's D could potentially be better than LSU's next year given how they both looked last year -- and what they both brought back. Fact is, a bunch of "cracks" were showing in LSU's defense late last year, and they lost most of those players. Do they just reload? Probably. They've got to prove it on the field first though.

Now Mizzou yes they were good in the BIG12 but we are in SEC football now, you have to admit that is a little different ... but more importantly where they can very well oppose a threat I think we are about even in talent maybe not depth but given it's played in Oxford I believe we will pull it out.
It's different, yes. But it's also unfair to consider them "not a threat" in the SEC because they had a down year in which they were INCREDIBLY injured at positions where they lacked depth. They are a big time sleeper team if they can stay healthy, they will sneak up on someone IMO. If you look at Pinkel's tenure, it's been a pretty consistent staple...

In most cases I'd tend to agree with you, but since Bro played the majority of the time with it hurt... At worst he plays as well as he played vs y'all (moncrief gets hungry in the offseason). He will be a little shaky week 1, but we win... Thank God we are carta-Samuels first SEC defense
This is why your fanbase is delusional.
Guy was hurt all year last year -- has surgery -- "worst case he's only as hurt as he was last year". "At worse" he plays equal to his best game of his career next year.
That's what I just heard you say.

Back to the point of the thread. If something happens to Mullen in the next two years, I think you make Petrino tell you no before you even approach Hud.

Well TBH this is all pointless because nothing matters until the games are played ... that's why we play them anyway, right?
So I think we win, you think y'all win ... so here's to seeing next who pulls it out.
Of course though that'll be Ole Miss

Petrino would get his arse kicked recruiting here. Hud is more of a Freeze type recruiter. Never quits.

I think Petrino would be the better hire. He is proven in SEC play. Hud is more of a gamble. Go with what works and is proven. He showed he could battle with the big boys.

I just picked a game where I can say feed moncrief and you know what I mean

As long as Freeze is in this state whomever y'all hire will not matter from a recruiting stand point.

Petrino is a proven winner in the SEC West. You hire the man, let him go out and hire recruiters on his staff.

I know you are joking, we are always going to pretty much split talent in-state.

All Hail the great and wonderful Hud, prepare all orifices for the phuckening!

Somewhat disagree. In the next 2 years, Hud will likely become(even more than he already is) one of the hottest names in coaching. Petrino will still be the guy that used 4 different jobs as stepping stones and still wrecked a motorcycle.
Hud is MSU's longterm answer to Freeze assuming Freeze's continued success -- in terms of a coach that is an innovative offensive mind and will stay with us longterm through success that can sell a true love of the institution in recruiting. Hud's connections at highschools around MS, LA, and AL is an almost scary proposition in recruiting for us... would certainly be on a whole different tier individually as a recruiter compared to Mullen...and Petrino for that matter.

Go ask Lance Pogue and Bobby Hall(and practically every other highschool coach in MS, AL, LA, TN) what they think about Hud and get back to me...
Ask Godfrey, who is an OM homer that has covered Hud extensively what he thinks...

Fair enough. Although, when it comes to out of state recruiting there is a bit of a mismatch.
