It's funny y'all base your argument more on where the game is being played rather than who will have the better team.
I base my argument on even teams, which I think the teams will be this upcoming year. That tips the edge to the home team.

I wouldn't bet you though.

I sure hope we do. It's looking like I'll get to make the trip to Austin.

So you want to include the past, but only as far back as until it stops benefiting your argument?
Why is it so hard to understand that the most recent past is the best indicator of the nearest future? Not rocket science. The further you get away from the current, the less relevant TO the current. Hence why the most recent past is the logical example.

(1)Let's see how the season goes before we go talking about who's gonna be favorited at the egg bowl.
(2)As far as I'm concerned this is Mullen's year to put up or shut up. All he talks about this year is higher expectations, he's gonna find out very soon what that means if we go 5-7 or lose another one to OM and/or lose another bowl game straight.
I'll be proud to admit I am a fair weather fan, screw anyone who sat through those worthless years and actually paid money to go see that travesty. The quickest way to get a change made is to quit supporting it with dollars, and you'll find my dollars very quickly absent from this program if we lose to OM again or start some dumbass #WeBelieve campaign only to go on a 1-5 slide right down the shitter again.
Sorry but like Dan has said, we expect more now.

I would put it at 55/45 State due to home field advantage.

I don't take bets from people I don't know.
The reason you wouldn't bet though is probably because you don't like lighting money on fire.

I guess that's where we disagree. I think we will have a better team based on the fact we return 19 starters and the top recruits we have coming in. Also that y'all are going to be very inexperienced in the receiving and secondary spots

Sorry I didn't realize our players had been on the team since the early 90s. COMPLETELY forgot about Freeze being the coach that whole time too.

We do disagree. I think we will have better depth than Ole Miss. Thus offsetting the number of Starters you have returning. The SEC Schedule can be brutal.

So since 90, State is 8-3 in Starkville and OM is 7-4 in Oxford. Having a game at either place doesn't guarantee a win for the home team.
State has lost 1 game in Starkville since 1991 as a favorite or even as a mild underdog. Same is true in Oxford for Ole Miss. I expect the teams to be very similar this year.
It's a clear trend -- whether you consider it logically applicable to the future or not...

You're entitled to your opinion, but I am not worried about our depth. We will be 2 deep on the D Line and we will have 6 different play making WR's

Yeah, you are OBVIOUSLY going for best case scenarios here**
Hilarious that you consider LSU an automatic loss for MSU -- yet it's a win for Ole Miss. You need to look at the statistics from the games last year in Baton Rouge beyond the box score...
Okay First that's my opinion and I'm entitled to it just as you are yours ...
Second if you notice besides the LSU game, that I have as such:
quote:
LSU ... Win (FWIW Toss Up)
As I did have your OSU *loss*:
quote:
OSU ... Loss (FWIW Toss Up)
I have both teams losing to the same people:
quote:quote:aTm ... Loss (FWIW Toss Up)quote:Bama ... Loss
Ole Miss
quote:quote:Bama ... Lossquote:aTm ... Loss
Mississippi State
The only difference I have between the teams is I expect us to win our OOC and y'all to lose yours which I did admit both are subject to change:
quote:quote:Texas ... Win (FWIW Toss Up)
Ole Miss
quote:quote:OSU ... Loss (FWIW Toss Up)
Mississippi State
The LSU game where y'all have a history of NEVER WINNING and we have one of AT LEAST BEING IN THE GAME.
Finally our cross divisional games.
Ole Miss plays Vandy & Mizzou which we should win both ...
Where as State plays Kentucky & South Carolina, where I have y'all splitting these games.
If OM were to being playing UGA or UF I'd have us down as a loss but since it's Mizzou ... well c'mon ...
So please get over your bullshite it's as much about our scheduling as it is what I expect our teams to do. BUT AT ANYRATE I EXPECT THE GAME TO BE A 50/50 SHOWDOWN ... IT ALWAYS IS.

Depth isn't a problem at WR.
In my opinion we are deeper in the trenches.

I don't see Home Field giving a 15% swing.

I think the teams are pretty equal- that's why home field is such a big deal
