Historically you shouldn't win

When either program fields a decent team they don't lose at home. It's been over a decade plus since either State or Ole Miss lost the Egg Bowl at home with a winning record.

Nope. OM worst case scenario will have 6 wins and MSU will most likely have only 4. Plus, OM has 3 home games in a row against Ark, Troy, and Mizzou and MSU is @ SC, A&M, Bama (Starkville) and @ Ark, on top of only having 5 days to prepare since the Egg Bowl is on Thanksgiving.

Looked at the numbers over the last 4 years. Only LSU and Bama meet your standards.

Um... since 95 Ole Miss has won 3 times in StarkVegas

ALL TIME
OM: 21 wins in Stark
MSU: 13 wins in Stark

We haven't fielded a team that should have won in Starkville but one time since 2003, so I think the "No way OM wins because the game is in Starkville" arguement isn't a really valid arguement. At this point I think we finally have a good coach, a team that actually cares and along with that a pretty good team.

No doubt Ole Miss has a chance to win the game. I am just saying it's not probable like the OP stated. I am thinking that game is 50-50.

Even if you are a good bit better the game will be a toss up if we are all being honest.

That's why I said but one time

I agree. I just don't agree that the game being in Starkville makes it an automatic OM loss just because of what we have done there since '03

ah, thought you were including the 03 team. IDK if that game was in Oxford or Stark though

'03 was in Starkville. We won 31-0, '09 was in Starkville and we lost 41-27

You conveniently started your analysis after Kevin Fant and a 2-8 MSU team with "nothing to play for" made Eli quit as a soph and kept you at home during bowl season @ 7-4

What exactly do you think we have?

I think the game is a toss up -- but people acting like OM is going to waltz into Starkville and thump us because of what happened in Oxford last year are kidding themselves...

That's also misleading considering the 20 years they played in Jackson in the 70's and 80's

I'm thinking if the season goes as I expect it for both teams then Rebels walk away easily with a 10 point victory that leaves State fans out of a bowl and questioning Mullens

But the fact that we've beaten 2 good Ole Miss teams in Starkville in the past 12 years is not relevant right?

actually, no it is not relevant.

No, I used 2003 as my base because I see alot of State fans on here say that we haven't won in Starkville since Eli.
