That's funny, State fans are expecting and thinking the reversal.

There's the delusion we all knew was coming...

ALL TIME
OM: 21 wins in Stark
MSU: 13 wins in Stark

That's also misleading considering the 20 years they played in Jackson in the 70's and 80's

How is it misleading? In the 34 times we've played in Starkville, OM has won 21 times.

Best Case Scenarios IMO

Ole Miss

Vandy ... Win
SEMO ... Win
Texas ... Win (FWIW Toss Up)
Bama ... Loss
Auburn ... Win
aTm ... Loss (FWIW Toss Up)
LSU ... Win (FWIW Toss Up)
Idaho ... Win
Arkansas ... Win
Troy ... Win
Mizzou ... Win
State ???

Mississippi State

OSU ... Loss (FWIW Toss Up)
Alcorn St. ... Win
Auburn ... Win
Troy ... Win
LSU ... Loss
Bowling Green ... Win
Kentucky ... Win
USCe ... Loss
aTm ... Loss
Bama ... Loss
Arkansas ... Win (FWIW Toss Up)
Ole Miss ???

That puts OM at 9-2 coming to Starkville to play a 6-5 State team.

Based off of those records and the all important MO-MO I think we should win against State.

But still the game will be a 50/50 shot for either team.

Once again, but one time.

That doesn't mislead anything. Fact is OM has more Egg Bowl wins in Starkville than State does.

No, I used 2003 as my base because I see alot of State fans on here say that we haven't won in Starkville since Eli.

Right -- You had "Return to Glory" after Jackie had long since hung it up(along with most of our fanbase) and Eli thumped us in the rain in front of a smooth 20k screaming fans -- otherwise, you haven't won there since 97. But that's all irrelevant right?

I thought that was this year. Next year, will be the next and so on. So it's 6 years now, to accomplish a coaches goals?

Maybe--keep in mind that this is his first head coaching job. He's still learning, and his record in his first 4 years as a head coach rivals Saban's, Tuberville's, Miles, etc. It's a LOT better than Chizik's first 4 years as a head coach.

Mullen has only five losses to teams with fewer than 10 wins (1 9-win team, 3 8-win teams, 1 7-win team). Four were SEC away games, and three of the five were in his first season as a head coach.

again... yes it actually is irrelevant in regards to this coming year.

and in 2003 you had a Cotton Bowl team, while we had a 2-9 team with a lame duck coach. Of course you won- when teams are close to even- the home team usually wins

No it's not relevant at all to the game that's gonna be played at Starkville on Thanksgiving Day. That's exactly what I am saying.

Yeah, you are OBVIOUSLY going for best case scenarios here**

Hilarious that you consider LSU an automatic loss for MSU -- yet it's a win for Ole Miss. You need to look at the statistics from the games last year in Baton Rouge beyond the box score...

I was helping UMRealist remember the games because he said he didn't remember.

Honestly, I think you will be looking at two 5-6 to 6-5 teams coming into that game.

because most of those wins have come from people are that 65 years old now and older

Since the game returned to campus- State is 8-3 vs OM in Starkville- and only 1 of those 3 wins came against a State team with a winning record

8-3 at home since the games returned to campus.

Thank God for John Vaught though...in an era that we always played OM directly after Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. By all means, recent statistics are irrelevant -- it's the ones from the 60s and 70s that give a better idea of future success.

So you want to include the past, but only as far back as until it stops benefiting your argument?

The way i see it the past doesn't mean shite. I wouldn't care if we'd never lost a game in Starkville, I still wouldn't say it was automatic or take it for granted.
