That Clowney play... considering the situation at that time... is right at the top of my list of all time great college defensive plays.

These gifs all demonstrate how soft the game has really gotten. None of these hits were penalties and everyone loved them and celebrated them as great football plays.
Now pretty much every single one of those guys are ejected and put on refs shite lists.

Can't find a gif, but Mississippi State's spring game was stopped after Johnathan Abram knocked a dude out. He had some pretty other savage plays throughout the year too.
