Haha Clinton-Dix is not a starter. He's only played in 1 game this year and didn't start

Anthony Averett is only starting right now because Jimmy Smith has been hurt. He's been a backup otherwise his entire career

This topic is about current NFL rookies.

Weird, insecure deflection

I may be pretty new here but I'm pretty sure 99% of these posts go off on tangents.
And isn't the topic on NFL performance? Seems like you were the first one who brought up college performances. Seems like a ...weird insecure deflection by you.

Actually pretty impressive. Randy Moss had a monster rookie season- with 69 receptions. All 3 are on pace to break that. I doubt yards and TD's match up, but impressive nonetheless.

Waddle and Smith have been targetted more than any other rookie receivers. Hell, Waddle was targetted 13 times in week 2 alone. Waddle's issue is their gameplan not who's throwing to him. He's catching everything around the LOS, which is why he only averages 8 yards per catch. It's like they don't try to stretch the field with him and his speed at all.

Think your order and comparisons might be a LITTLE biased.

Najee Harris: 26

This says more about where Ben Roethlisberger is at this point in his career than it does about Najee Harris. Ben should have retired after last season. One of Harris's receptions, for example, was a check down swing pass on 4th and 11 against the Bengals that gained about 2 yards.

I like Najee. Ben has absolutely nothing left in the tank at this point. Pittsburgh is going to have to make a very uncomfortable decision and bench him eventually.

69 catches, 1313 yards (19 ypc!), 17 TD. Holy shite. That was arguably the best rookie season in history and the 1998 Vikings had the best offense I've ever seen.

Robert Edwards had 1500+ total yards with NE (about 1K rushing) and 13 TD's....didn't sniff ROTY. Didn't make the pro bowl because there were about 10 HOF guys in their prime. That's how he ended up in a rookie beach flag football game where he nearly had his leg amputated. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Edwards was such a sad story. He was a supremely underrated RB at Georgia and looked like he was going to be a very good one for New England. It would have been interesting to see him on the early Belichick/Brady title teams.

Justin Jefferson had 88 rec (15th in the NFL) and 1400 yards (4th in the NFL), both breaking Moss' previosu franchise records, and didn't win ROY yet was 2nd team All-Pro. He actually didn't even come close to Herbert's ROY votes. Those 1400 yards were also 2nd in NFL history for a rookie behind only Bill Groman in 1960.

But yeah I remember that happening to Edwards. That was so messed up to end a career that way

Several teams are going to need a QB after this season... Houston, Pittsburgh and Atlanta off the top of my head. Unfortunately for them, the '22 QB class sucks. Atlanta may ride with Ryan one more season, but they should have taken a QB this past draft.

Watched a YouTube vid on him last night. He was offered by UF as a WR, UGA as a DB (where he started for 2 years), and made the NFL as a RB. He's an insane talent. He had some type birth defect leg issue as a child, parents were told he'd never run.

Tidbit from last nights rabbit hole- The probable dominos if he doesn't get hurt: Pete Carroll is not fired at NE. The USC/ Carroll run never happens. Belichick never takes reigns at NE. Brady perhaps never plays in the NFL. Crazy!

Yep, I'd have probably taken Trask with their first pick in the 2nd if I were them instead of signing Franks as an UDFA. Now they're left with Franks, McCarron on a one year contract who just got hurt for the season, and Josh Rosen who was signed to a one year deal after McCarron went down. If they keep Ryan, they're on the hook for about 40 million the next two years and he isn't getting any younger, but they're basically screwed with his contract next year regardless. Trask would have been cheap and have time to learn behind Ryan for a year or two. Now, they're putting themselves in the position of maybe needing to start a rookie when Ryan retires or they cut bait.
