Everyone is just beating the crap out of each other.

Is this because of NIL/portal?

Seems the same to me.

The difference is we don't have divisions, so things are more chaotic. Where as in the past you're looking at every game in terms of what it means for the division and often times you only have a few scenarios to win the division.

Take Alabama in 2025 where the only thing that mattered for them was Ole Miss losing. Because it was the only path to the SECCG after the loss.

Now it's much more open ended and that same scenario without divisions works out different.

Or take 2011. Alabama and LSU would have met in the SECCG without divisions.

Getting rid of divisions has been one of the few positives with all the recent changes for me.

In a while for sure.

6-2 LSU for example is just just a few bounces away from 8-0 or 4-4.

We imploded in the second half vs USCw and aTm giving both those games away. USCw we struggled offensively in the second half and caused like 4 forced fumbles that were all recovered by USC, nothing went in our favor. Against aTm we threw 3 interceptions in our own red zone and missed 3 field goals.

USCe and Ole Miss imploded in the second half giving us those wins.

I think it's different in the fact that there doesn't seem to be a truly dominant team in the SEC this year. Yeah, the lack of divisions makes the field look more chaotic but this season it appears that anyone can beat anyone on any given Saturday. As we have seen multiple times this year, even Vanderbilt isn't a sure thing.

I still would rather see the SEC add 1 or 2 conference games instead of staying at 8 and trying to lobby others to go down to 8 conference games as well.

8 conference games is plenty anything more is overkill. College football is absolutely perfect now I love it the most

It’s seems about the same as it ever was, except there are no divisions to hide behind for the losses

SEC west is a GaUnTlEt. SEC Least

Vandy beating Bama is the only real outlier

The same teams are winning as before NIL. There’s no parity.
