re: Most hated team in the SEC?

NEW LSU FANS:

"i'm new to college so let me get drunk and go to the game since i go to LSU now and think i know what it means to be an LSU fan... not to mention how easy it is to jump right on the bus due to the last 6-8 years of our team's success."

these are the worst fans of college football that i'm aware of. they're loud, crude, mean, and desert their team when the game looks bad.

OLD school fans:
"-i have no clue what they would say, but let's just say it's something cool that makes me seem like a more informed person-"

i got no issue with these folks since i have no clue what they're like. for the most part they are over-shadowed by their loud/noisy/fairweather counterparts that they should shoot because they're staining the name of a real LSU fan.


WOULD a true / oldschool LSU fan please tell me how offbase i am? i'm genuinely/truly curious how offbase my thoughts are.

I grew up in Louisiana my entire family is made up of ultra loyal and decent Tiger fans. I went to boarding school in Tennessee where the students were a mix of Tenn/Uga/Bama/AU/Vandy/SC/Kentucky and UNC fans and they all HATED LSU and UF with a frickING PASSION.

You can't get a true feel for what a group of people are like just by spending a couple of hours around a small portion of their fans one or two days a year like you do by attending football games. Anybody who likes gumps should move to the state of Alabama and live around them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If you do that, I guarantee you will stop liking them real quick.


I have have grown up in the state of Albama and spent plenty of time around gumps in person. Gumps have always been the same delusional, arrogant,obnoxious douchebags in person that they are on the internet and they also have the same huge sense of entitlement in person that they have on the internet. In fact, gumps are so bad in person that I have never attended a game in Tuscaloser and I probably never will attend a game in Tuscaloser

Yes we are hated the most. I believe it's generally because we have a sense of entitlement and are often delusional about the abilities of our football players and coaches. Which is understandable. It's frustrating to reason with someone when they won't look at logic. But as I have contended for a long time, Tennessee is much, much worse about this than we are. Just look at their situation right now and how the fans are responding. I think it's suprising a lot of other fans, but it doesn't surprise me one bit. They are far worse about entitlement and delusion.


Interestingly, it has been a long time since we have been able to align our delusional beliefs about our football team and coaches with actual facts in the real world. This alignment cancels the delusion, making it null and void, and thus we can now be considered reasonable again.

I contend that now we can all hate Tennessee the most.

Well said. I don't disagree entirely with you.
We all "SAY" we hate Bama, but I'll bet most SEC fans were pulling for Bama in the '09 Sugar (that is, until the end of the 1st quarter :)

However, I really don't have any animosity towards Tennessee, just what their coaching staff pulled with J. Jackson.
However, their new coach calling a press conference to apologize as his first media relations event was pretty embarrassing and funny.
