In 2005 Yankee stadium was around 1 billion, SOFI was 7 times that.

My point was, 900 million for a 35k seat stadium is a joke.

We have people out there with renovation phases for their stadiums in the hundreds of Millions of dollars. Could you imagine what it would take to build an SEC stadium from scratch? OU just approved a $450 Million renovation project to their stadium this week.

"The renovation is described as "a vigorous project design effort” to rebuild and redevelop the west side of Memorial Stadium, as well as “gameday facilities and operational elements as well as amenities and infrastructure” to enhance fan experience."

Have you seen NW's facilities?

Not really - but I don't doubt it as NW is an exceptional institution on almost all levels. The new stadium renderings do look pretty sweet for a college stadium (albeit a small one). My comment was more about Chicago in general - I know companies, mine included, that have pulled out of the Chicago market because it is just so expensive to build and maintain anything there.

Guessing part of the cost is that everyone is in a union there and they built the stadium on the shore of the lake -

This isn't your traditional college football stadium with half the seats dating from the mid 20th century or earlier.

This is an NFL style stadium, or maybe, more like a Premiere League stadium, with a roof over the seating, lots of premium seating, and all the bells and whistles, just on a slightly smaller scale.
