College station
There is 93k college students between A&M and Blinn, and the town is built around accommodating these students. You can party your arse off and hook up with chicks without jumping on an interstate or bar hoping the entire time.
You want to make a shite ton of money? Open a business in CS that caters to students. Over the past 10 years College Station population went up over 30% and Bryan’s went up 20%.

There are certainly some drab buildings at TAMU but there are some really nice parts of campus as well, it's ridiculously large so you can focus on the nice or the meh. You can walk for 2 or 3 hours on campus and still only see half of it, and that is at a pretty decent pace without looking around too much. Now it is almost like many colleges that happen to be on the same campus more than ever. The Academic Building area is the most like a traditional SEC look. The Engineering Building is ridiculous, $268 million alone and in the discussion for the most amazing academic building in the country. The Systems Building entrance at Eastgate is the formal look. The area from Kyle to the Bush Library is filled with one big stadium or field after another. CS just doesn't have big trees and some of the buildings are crap.
The town itself is objectively nice. About 250k in the metro and everything revolves around the school. Very safe, you can find a few rough areas in Bryan if you try but not much. Lots of cool places to eat and get a drink. It's also close to the 8 million metro in Houston, the 3 million metro in Austin and not too far from the 8 million metro in DFW or 2 million in San Antonio. Not many SEC schools are even close to that.
The right answer btw is Starkville. It's a little town in the middle of nowhere. Just nothing really interesting other than some nice people.

Como ranks highly Amongst most rankings lol. I’ve been all but 4 in sec and only Athens has been better, and not by much.

Ya has to be. I’ve been to most sec, b12, and a few B10. Como is easily one of the best. Not just me, most articles posted about colleges agree. Either you don’t drink, or like packed places

College station is beautiful and boring asf

I hate to pick on my MSU buddies but yeah, it is Starkvegas. With College Station running a respectable second place.
Which isn't a knock on either town or school. The SEC is lucky in that most of our schools are in really nice places to live. I visited a few Big 10 campuses when I lived in the Midwest and a lot of those places are grim AF. Starkville would be in the upper half of the that conference.
Besides, this ranking won't last long. As soon as Oklahoma joins Norman will immediately become the worst and most boring SEC town. Starkville is like an all expenses paid vacation to Hawaii compared to Norman.

Knoxville with its mountain backdrop, river vol navy and beautiful hilly campus is where it's at.

But Columbia, MO holds its own.
That Mizzou ADPi from Peoria, IL might have given me a really good first impression of Mizzou and CoMo though.

There are a lot of options so I guess anything is possible you picked the wrong ones. As stated there are almost 100k students in the area so they have an awful lot that caters to them. There are also some solid Tex Mex and BBQ places to go with a broad variety of restaurants.
I think Athens is a better pure college town for sure but it's about half the size so it's a little different dynamic. Athens is also prettier for sure.

Which college towns would you feel most comfortable with your kid living in at 18? The list prob mirrors each other.
