1. Alabama (140 points)
To the surprise of very few, the Crimson Tide rank number one in our blue-blood countdown. No matter what metric you want to use, Alabama is the clear number one here. They have six more national championships than their closest competitor with 17. With 916 wins, 71 bowl appearances, and 135 consensus All-Americans they have the consistency and longevity that no other program can match.

2. Ohio State (133 points)
Woody Hayes, Earle Bruce, John Cooper, Jim Tressel, and Urban Meyer all set the stage of one of the best-coached teams in the country. The Buckeyes also have 50 bowl appearances, 40 conference championships, and eight national championships to bring to the table. Additionally, the Buckeyes 924 wins only ranks second to Michigan in terms of total wins in program history. Ohio State has six Heisman Trophy winners and Archie Griffin is the only player that can lay claim to winning back to back trophies.

Which college football programs are the true "blue bloods" of the sport as we head into the 2022 offseason?

In college basketball, it's a pretty short list, with Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana and UCLA making the list for most fans.

College football has a longer list.

According to a poll conducted by Pick Six Previews, there are eight "blue blood" programs in college football.

They are:

Alabama
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Nebraska
Michigan
USC
Texas

Alabama has more wins on the field

Alabama has more titles on the field

You complain about how Alabama counts NC, yet Ohio State does it the same way (actually if Bama counted their NC the way Ohio State does, Alabama would have more)

Alabama plays in a conference with 5 of the top 13 teams in wins, and has been together since the Southern conference. Ohio State plays in a conference with 2 of the top 13 (NU, PSU are new comers)


Argue if you want, but you have shown no evidence, no links, nothing to back up your opinion. Just like everybody knows at NASA and Huntsville, Ohio State grads are just a lot of hot air.

Did not know it was a Twitter poll, but I now have a higher respect for people using Twitter. They may be more informed than I believed.
