LSU winning at Alabama 9-6 in what was labeled "The Game of the Century", with everyone knowing that the winner would have the clear inside track to the NC game. Loser would be out of it was the conventional wisdom.

OR...

Bama beating LSU 21-0 (5 FGs, 1 TD and a missed PAT) in a rematch, in the BCS Title game in the Superdome. Winner gets Crystal Ball.

I think both are equally impressive, for different reasons of course. Just sucks there can't be a 3rd game in the series to settle it once and for all.

I add the last line because that was undoubtedly the funniest (albeit unintentional comedy) slogan I saw on T Shirts in Nola for the BCS game. Bama fans actually wore shirts saying something to the effect of "let's settle this once and for all". That shirt would make a lot more sense if the 2 teams played one more time this season, with it being 1-1 right now.

Completely shutting LSU out in the game that really mattered in the Superdome and only allowing them to cross the 50 yard line once.

It was the MNC, and its not even close. I don't even understand why this thread was made.

Bama embarrassing lsu in the Natty is way more impressive than a fluke 3 point win.

It was really Bama's only impressive win of the season, and it happened at just the right time for them. That's the way it works sometimes in sports.

What don't you understand? 2 very good teams played each other twice in the same season with each team winning one. And you say the 2 wins can't even be compared? Why not?

2 huge wins, one by LSU and one by Bama. I think LSU going on the road and winning in OT (when at the time that game was the defacto NC game) might be as impressive as Bama blowing out LSU in a rematch on a neutral field for the BCS Title. I'm not embarrassed by that.

They can. However, bama fans and only a few level headed LSU fans are willing to compare the two right now. By November of this year, some Bama fans will have come back down from the clouds and many LSU fans will have climbed out of the pitty pot. This topic will be discussed ad nauseum by the time the next Bama-LSU matchup rolls around.

Dominating a team in the BCSCG (win by 21, shutout, cross the 50 once, less the 100 yards total offense, complete box score embarrassment)is clearly a more impressive win than a 3 point overtime win in a great closely contested game. LSU beat Alabama in a very important regular season game and then Alabama embarrassed LSU in the national championship game.

Because the first game was evenly matched. The second game was a non-lubed, bite-the-pillow-i'm-going-in-dry arse raping. Therefore, the second game was more impressive.

Did he ask anything about Arkansas? What does that have to do with me being able to tell that a skull rape in the National Championship is more impressive than a lucky win in T-Town?

I agree with all of this.
I would just change "very important regular season game" to "the most important regular season game", and I would add LSU beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa whereas Bama beat LSU on a neutral field. Just trying to make the comparison fully complete and objective.
Highlighting the stats of the BCS game certainly helps argue the case for that one being more impressive, if stats are what one is into.
