This play didn't cost us. We won the game by 36 points genius. I was pointing out how horrible the officiating is.
Have you ever seen a game that didn't have a blown call in it? You've shown us one call and you are making an argument that it was a horribly officiated game.
I'll bet there was a missed holding call, a non called blocking in the back and an off-sides call that should have been illegal procedure. But that still doesn't make it a horribly called game.

A video from a camera shooting video of a TV screen is my favorite. It's like HD on steroids.

It's probably better quality than what the SEC wants us to believe they have in the booth!
I think it's pretty damn clear from the replay that the foot never touched. Nothing kicked up, it never bobbled at all (straight swipe past the ground). I don't see how the refs on the field missed it.
Wait, nevermind, that's the same crew that said 2 feet in with possession isn't an int. So I guess I can see how those pieces of shite called it a catch.
To review, when you have the bug eyed piece of shite as your official:
Feet in + possession = no catch.
Landing out of bounds without touching the ground = catch.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

It was a blown call, just my way of showing the incompetence of the refs this year. There are too many blown calls this year across the country, period. This was just one example of one, in a game we won by 36. Chill out!

Apparently so. I wanted to be like my mentor Arrakis.
The same crew two weeks in a row blow a call down the sideline, among others. I pointed out that they've fricked up what, to 99% of the world, looks like an easy damn call when you consider it was reviewed.
But yes, making a joke about two horribly blown calls by the same crew makes me stupid. Go study the ref handbook so you can come here pretending you're better than everyone else cause you can quote ambiguous rules from the dark ages. I'll continue being stupid for your amusement master.

But my God, they have replay!! They still can't get it right!

Wow. Who are these replay booth officials? Jeesh!

What's the point of this thread? No rational person expects perfection from officials because that's not possible.
The point of this thread is to show more evidence at how incompetent our refs our! No one expects perfection but we do expect competence!

This is just a close call. It happens in every game, in every conference.
Did you watch the play? Not one part of his body landed inbounds!

This topic reminds me of one of my kids crying that something "isn't fair." To which I always reply, "get used to it, a lot of things in life aren't fair." You have to grow up and suck it up and overcome the unfair stuff or you're going to lose.
Do you work for the SEC Office? Because this is the stance they take and the reason our refs are so pitiful.
How bout the SEC stops protecting them and get refs thet are competent.
Two refs on the sidelines within 10-15 yards from the play and they blew an easy call. Are you willing to suck it up when bad refing costs you the SEC Championship? A NC?
WE NEED COMPETENT REFS!

Wow - that was a pathetic call.
Glad it didn't hurt you in the game.

Yeah, 99 percent of the board can see it was terrible call, but there is a village idiot lurking.

Isn't there a rule in college that if it seems you would come down in bounds but are pushed out then it's a catch?
Posted on 11/15/09 at 1:56 pm to CrimsonRed07
That's the force out rule. It is not in the college game. And now it is no longer in the NFL either.
Posted on 11/15/09 at 1:59 pm to MRazorback
Just curious. I couldn't remember. I thought it was not in the NFL but was still in college. Never did like that rule anyways... even though my wife graduated from Troy.
Seriously, though. Has anyone noticed that Troy is not afraid to play anyone? Gotta say I am impressed with their schedule.

No, not getting a good look at the play before going off about it makes you stupid.
Patience....somebody will post a good video of the play.

Not really impressed. They know they are going to win the Sunbelt so they can afford to loose to a BCS team. Its about money.
La Tech plays in a harder conference and usually plays 2 BCS opponents a year. They don't do it because they are fearless, they do it cause they need the paychecks.

It's not an SEC conspiracy. It's a conspiracy against Bobby Petrino cause he's a dick to the refs. Seriously, watch him on the sidelines during games and how he's constantly berating the refs. I bet these guys hate the prick.

Part of it has to be because they are fearless. I mean why risk injury against far superior teams if your goal is to just win the Sun Belt. I understand they want the paychecks, but please point out another school in the country at Troy's level playing this type of schedule. I can't think of one. There may be but not coming to mind. I am just saying they deserve props for playing this schedule.
