recruiting for a couple of years. Feds will do that to a man. Giving some of the lesser creative and aggressive crooks coaching and recruiting great players and their hangers-on a chance. I don't know anything about Wade nor much keep up with the sport except for when it's every third post on here during the winter. But hey if a moderator on the UCLA board says so he must be fudging since they are past masters at it from the Wooden days. Same as UK/NC/Duke and about 100 others to some degree in CBB. Coaching matters but in a sport where there are only 5 players then who those 5 are become the start and close to the finish of it all. But there are exceptions. Rare but there are.

You gotta acknowledge Wade, a guy who comes in without the built in inside track and glamour of the big boys which gives those coaches access and starts wining at close to a top 10 clip. The guy at UT is doing it the hard way though. Winning without the type recruits that UK and yeah LSU have. That's the Wimp coming out of him. Pearl is a combo type guy. Good coach/good crook. Better yet he appears to be an a-hole who enjoys being so. Great for Auburn and entertaining. Past Avery and Calapari I can't name another SEC coach. And Avery has no chance. The folks there are not going to consistently support any kind of behavior that puts the football program at risk. And wisely so. Further, Wimp ain't walking thru that door.
