Kalen inherited more 5 stars than anyone in history not named Larry Coker, but failed to capitalize by your recent standards (unless championships are no longer your standard?). Are..... you thinking that I'm arguing that Auburn hasn't been bad? Freeze inherited Harsin and back end Gus players. We've sucked. How is that necessary for me to say? My comparison is coaches not meeting the expectations set for them. Kelan (winning it all) Freeze (just don't suck). How is this hard?

I am saying anyone whose expectation is a national championship every season is destined for misery.
This is very disingenuous. Deboer did inherit a lot of 5 stars - but just very briefly. The majority transferred. Ohio State was especially ruthless. Here is who Deboer inherited - and where they transferred.
There are only 4 five star recruits on Alabama’s roster who are not Deboer recruits; zero from the 2022 class,1 from the 2023 class, 3 from the 2024 class.
2024 Class: WR Ryan Williams, CB Jaylen Mbakwe (transferred to Georgia Tech), CB Zay Mincey, and CB Zabien Brown.
2023 Class: EDGE Keon Keeley (transferred to Notre Dame), S Caleb Downs (transferred to Ohio State), OT Kadyn Proctor (transferred to Iowa and then transferred back to Alabama - now in NFL) , CB Dezz Ricks (transferred to Texas A&M), DL James Smith (transferred to Ohio State), EDGE Yhonzae Pierre, LB Qua Russaw (transferred to Ohio State).
2022 Class: EDGE Jeremiah Alexander (transferred to Clemson) and DL Jaheim Oatis (transferred to Colorado)

It is fun to go back and see all the hope. A lot of Auburn fans really seemed to believe Hugh Freeze would be Auburn football’s savior.
