Really, what a lot of Gator fans don't realize is that Franks isn't asked to do much every game.

He can get away with one great play and the rest being completely average. Almost 50% of his passes were completed less than 5 yards down the field, which is why it was so easy for Miami to stop our rushing offense -- all they had to do was shut down the close routes and wait for him to make mistakes.

When throwing downfield, he hit less than 50% of his passes (including a holding that wiped out an incompletion). His passes over 5 yards included both of his interceptions, which highlights a problem that he's had forever:

He cannot see downfield nor hit those targets with any consistency. When passing close to the LOS he's actually pretty good, but that's all he can do. Reading defenses, identifying mismatches and improvising are all things he's less than average at.

For instance, in this game:

Franks thew 7 passes behind the line of scrimmage.

Fromm in 2017 threw 30 in the entire year.

As a true freshman.

Mullen has just been very, very good at masking how inept Franks is as a QB.

K. Mond

Not that there's much of a sample size but Mond rolling away left from pressure and throwing a bomb-strike on the move was the best play I've seen so far this season. That ball was f***ing beautiful.

Franks didn't do jack but act like the douche he is.

Where is Mond's neck? Seriously he has no neck and is built like a RB.

miamuh is 20 x better than sisters of the poor (tejas state).

Says the LsU fan about Franks when joey burrow only throws 16 tds and 5 picks....probably sacked 20 times during the season.

Grantham cant wait til the game in red stick to get fresh meat for Zuniga, Greenard and Moon....gotta feed QBs to them and keep em happy.

Dick he may be, but I'll give him credit for that.

It's backfiring though because now Franks thinks he's Cam Newton. A couple of humbling performances would do him good.

The biggest difference is Mond's apparent ability to hit a dime at 30 yards, while on the run and under pressure. But, again, that was against a MUCH less talented team.

The other difference is that Mond didn't have 2 fumbles and follow that up by saying "I do dis" to the camera and running in front of the Texas State seating section talk shite to opposing fans. Again, different opponents, so...

Mond doesn't rustle the shite out of the board. Advantage Franks.

It backfired last year, too. One of the big reasons we lost the game to Georgia was because of Franks giving up the ball with zero reason.

The fumble on the one yard line was egregious, the interception where he threw it directly to a UGA player was exactly like the one he threw to Miami.

The biggest problem is that he's so mentally weak that he can't be benched. If someone else starts, he will 100% go straight to the transfer portal. Dude is really, really sensitive.

Mond? I'd take the #2 Calzada over Franks as well.

Franks is garbage between the ears.. Mond is progressing very well.

I think Fromm and Tua are neck and neck if u look at it as a draft prospect perspective imo. I think Mond Bryant Burrow Bentley are in that next group. Then Franks & Jared G st UT are right there as well. Franks moreso before Miami so Imo hr drops some. But I think if Mond has another big year he has the greatest chance to be next off a draft board after Fromm & Tua imo. Burrow as well He is in his offensive element now with legit weapons at wideout. With his Accuracy and sneaky athleticism and that moxie he may beat Rohan’s Passing record and rush for 500
