Memphis FTW. FedEx Arena is right downtown. Lots of hotels and things to do. Closer than Atlanta than many of the SEC schools.

That would be great venue!

its not a zing. its just a opinionated statement that most sec fans agree with. you dont belong in our conference.

Not sure where I was saying we needed to "appease" the Kentucky fans. Just pointing out it could be a very highly attended tournament for that year. Kentucky fans will go wherever it is, no need to "appease" them.

I don't know that I agree with "most" SEC fans. That's pretty ambiguous. Some fans, sure. Either way, the winds of change are blowing and it happened. Weather or not you think we belong is irrelevant, as of July 1, we're joining the party.

Atlanta
New Orleans
Nashville

Those should be the only SEC tournament options.

nicer arena and more hotels in close proximity than any of those cities. Memphis.

New Orleans has a much shittier arena than Memphis but they have about 20 times the amount of hotels in the area.

I think it's a great idea. This event should be rotated frequently & should never be in a dome.

Didn't mean all of downtown. I meant in close proximity. Like stones throw proximity.

There is the Hampton, Westin, Peabody, Double Tree. That literally anybody with a decent arm, could throw a baseball from the forum to one of those hotels.

slight exagerration. I know someone could walk there in less than 3 minutes.

probably more like 2.

Or maybe two throws of the baseball. I bet I could do that.

in reality its about a 5 or 6 minute walk. its 3/10 of a mile away. but yes its close. but there are way more hotels in walking distance in new orleans than memphis. the two cities hotel wise are not even in the same stratosphere.

If you come out of the Peabody on 2nd street and go at the most liesurally pace imaginable, and chug a big gulp on the way. it's six minutes.
