8 was my guess a month ago for Mizzou, also. I think they're going to be hurting on the O-line now. They've lost 3 people, 2 of which, I think were starters. I'm gonna have to rethink that now. I think early games, they'll still win what I thought, including against Ga. But as it gets deep into conference play, I think they may be too banged up now, with little depth.

I forgot that they had some injuries on the o-line. I was gonna add that the only way they beat Bama, is if the players miss the plane and stay back in Tuscaloosa. That may not even help now

ESPN big bevo blogger. He also went to mizzou and goes out of his way to demean his alma mater for some reason.

I think Ubben is funny, most of the time. He is a huge troll, and looks like a troll even. I like watching ppl get upset at him though lol

Sadly that's par for the course with a whole lot of our J-School grads. I guess one thing a good journalism school teaches you is to not write like a homer for your team, so since we have the best J-School of all, our guys are the most vehement in not saying any good things about Mizzou. Or maybe they're just masochists, dunno.

I think they would look at it like Mizzou and the Aggies had a good start in the conference. Then we would be hearing nothing but " Well, let's see if they can keep it up every year".
Thing is, neither team will de-throne any of the top tier teams in this fist expansion season. The deal with LSU getting bumped down a couple in the preseason poll's really has no meaning at the moment. The same top teams will be there, one of them will probably make it to the NCG this year and kick some poor unsuspecting teams arse (USC) and that'll be that.

SEC has nothing to prove as the unquestionable elite conference in the nation. Nothing can hurt this image in just one season.
Agreed

It won't really matter unless one of them win something important, which I don't see happening. The Big XII press (read: Texas, OU) thinks MU and A & M are middling football schools, now and forever.
If one or the other wins ten games the Big XII will grudgingly admit that MAYBE they were a quality member of the Big XII; while some others will use it as a chance to compare and contrast the relative strength of each conference.
I don't give a damn what the Big XII or the Big XII beat writers think, do or say. I am just happy to be away from the texicans. MY dream was always to go back to a STRONG Big 8, WITHOUT a team from the sage brush state; but TV makes conferences and that will never happen.
I'm glad to be a member of the SEC. I am a bit nervous, but overall glad to be here.
